I think Maupay will start but we will badly miss hold up play when he does we have to play to feet but he hasn't the pace, he was more suited to Brighton's style. I agree it might be worth trying Gray and push one of Onana and Doucs up to support and bring Simms on the last twenty.

Running contrary to my own and the posts of many others , there is a point to consider.... tempers run high in the Derby and refs are prone to show the red card. Maupay may be the needle that offers one of their pricks a chance...?

Agreed. Simms should play over maupay if the tactic is the same as what we did against arsenal.

I'd also just play him against Liverpool, the pressure is off to some extent as it's not a game we are favourite for. But he'll still get that big game Merseyside derby experience that could hold him good stead for when he is undoubtedly needed in more important games for our run in.
