The club were negotiating for a deal with Pienaar and were offering him an improved offer which he turned down...presumably near the £60,000 pw rate? Fair enough. So why haven't those wages been used to get a loan signing in? Why is is that they 'had no money' for someone on loan?

Wages increases would usually be spread out and offset against fixed turnover. However, the weekly cost of Pienaar's wages AND the difference between Yakubu's weekly salary and whatever Leicester are contributing towards it should be surplus salary.

SO, it's either available for a loanee; or has been used to offset debt.

This could have been the only money Moyes had to play with, assuming we started with a £0 balance at the start of the month.

Now you're speculating. Neither you nor I know what the offer on the table was, or where it sat in comparison to whatever other players earn.

If; as seems to be the case, he wanted Champions League football. Then the Chairman has to be pretty clever to magic that out of the air before the end of June.

I'd have loved Pienaar to stay, I've enthused about him on here myself. But he wanted away, yet still worked his socks off for the cause this season. £3m for the rest of his contract is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

I SWEAR , it HAD NOTHING TO DO with Football ...

Champions League OR OTHERWISE , kid ....

Stand on me .

Carry on ,..

I seen it mate, did you believe a word coming out of Redknapps mouth?

Graham hunter said Bilboa confirmed they bid for Llorente as well, so I think its obvious Harry is telling a few porkies.

Tbh i kinda do mate because Redknapp is a fcuker for talking about other clubs players and being interested and things and if he's seriously interested he always says 'he's a top player, triffic lil player' or 'it's down to the chairman wether we go in for players or not, i tell him who i'd like and he tries to get me them', he's not said anything like that this time round, he's denied it out right.

And them quotes from Moyes you've put up, are they what you've seen on SSN today?. Doesnt sound promising really does it, i'll be amazed if we get anyone else in today but i just cant see it, when he's saying things like this, "I couldn't even say I am trying.", it just shatters all confidence of anything happening for me.

Mate ; Its DEADLINE DAY .

Everton FC denied ANY INTEREST IN David Bentley previously ..

YET ; Mufuka WAS IN A CAR EN ROUTE HERE , 2 DEADLINE DAY'S RUNNING ...!!!

Vero , btw ...

Don't believe The Hype , my mate ...

Patience , Dawg ...

And there was me thinking I can get on with my backlog of work, pessimistically accepting that we aren't getting anyone. Now I'm starting to wonder whether there's a Father Christmas, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy again.

Damn you shred of hope!
