I can relate, got over from canada to merry ole england plus the pain that the current lady is on vancouver time at the mo, skyping till 6 am happens, horrid indeed sir.
I would kill for a normal hour'ed life mate. Dunno about you, but do your dreams get weirder the worse your sleep pattern is? Mine certainly do!
Deg's 'Thought Of The Night (well actually early afternoon in my time zone)'
The English language is acknowledged as the hardest language in the world to learn and use correctly.
Your all aloud too make sum miss takes and bee happy.
Exactly what I've come to expect from the 'Thought of the Night'/'Early Afternoon'. Wonderful mate, and I can imagine English being difficult but i'm sure I heard somewhere Finnish is also the hardest to learn.
Hi Cena,
You're on US time, so you'll be ready when you emigrate to the States. Usually it's just the Americanos and Aussies/Kiwis on at this time of night, so good to have a new show to tune into.
During your travels to the US, what's the thing you liked the best and thing you liked the least about our fair shores?
Your fan,
JDawg.
Hi JDawg
Yeh really trying to tap into the American/Aussie crowd on here, especially as i'm up so late. Im no Craig Ferguson, but I'll get it my best.
To answer your question - I'll start with my least favourite things.
Firstly - whats with Jaywalking? Over here you can walk pretty much anywhere, except motorways (highways). I couldn't believe I got a telling off by Police for walking home, luckily once they heard the accent all was forgiven.
Commercials - you have loads, an annoying amount during programming, it's infuriating. Wait till you see our TV I reckon you'l be amazed at the lack of them compared to the US.
Thirdly and this isnt really a criticism of the country, but I found it really difficult coping with the culture shock. For two countries that speak the same language and share many of the same ideals, my God there is a culture difference. Once I got used to it, it was no problem, at first though I did struggle and suffered with bad homesickness.
4) Your radio stations, they have the same 4 songs on loop all day
5) Mountain Dew - vile.
Now the good things, and there were loads!
1) The Food, Buffalo Wild Wings, Taco Bell, Chili's Grill & Bar, and particularly where I was in the Mid/South Western states, The Mexican restaurants. Amazing, honestly superb.
2) The hospitality, what a friendly nation. You could not go more out of your way for me if you tried when I was there.
3) The women, sexy accent, loved mine, sexually hungry, enough said
4) The facilities you have for sport - among the best in the world
5) Cliche, but you all have boss teeth.
6) Cherry Dr.Pepper
7) The fact you can legally drive any car as long as you have a license.
8) July 4th holiday
9) The cost of petrol (Gas), phenomenal compared to over here.
10) Your bars and clubs, so different to here, but just, an experience to be in.
Hope that helps JDawg, there are many other things but those are the 10 off the top of my head I can think of.
