Player Valuation: £10m
At least with Martinez we were always "phenomenal". Even when the rs we're beating us 4-0.

We did go crazy, net spend doesn’t really come into it. Hes blown north of £500m on mainly dross.
Palace haven’t spend anywhere near that regardless of player sales.
This is the transfer spend for both teams since 2016/17 aka ‘The Moshiri Years’ according to transfermarket.co.ukWell apparently Palace’s net spend in that time period is £322 million - and they have had big sales like Wan Bissaka and Bolasie, so it seems they have..

TBF, he scored a lot of goals for Malaga against good La Liga opposition and I thought he was a great signing. I still can't

work out why he failed here.

We may have netted out at similar levels (cba checking), but imho, that’s not really a hiding place for the unbridled profligacy of the last 8 or so years.

We have spent far more than Palace under Moshiris reign.
Net spend (or the table above) also doesn’t account for probobly close to £100m on compo for sacked manager either.
Think you’re correct on Kev, most likely due to Moshiri no longer being able to fund vanity / Kia stitch ups, so by default he’s being left try to sort it out.Nobody has any idea what was down to Brands or Walsh, I do think Thellwell has more "power" than either of them had, but im pretty sure he still has people above sticking their snout in.

May well be something in that, I mean if the true source of the funding is per the allegations, spending £1.5b to get a clean return of £900m+ is possibly money well spent in some circles…..Was the wages and contracts that were the killer, rather then anything else and beyond transfer fees
Not just players either, managers, DOF's etc - in a way its still going on we dropped £7.5 mill on removing the board in the summer and lads are stressing over 10 mill for Dele Alli - not me.
I dont think the plan was ever to manage us well to be honest.
The issue with Sandro was not the fee or the length of contract; it was the £80k a week hike in wages that Steve Walsh thought was a good idea for a player who had 1 decent season
Absolutely agree...we are trying to reset and improve the Team Squad by appointing mediocrity as a Manager...the best way to sort the Squad is to appoint a quality manager...But I feel 1 of our biggest issues has been the appointment of very poor managers, which has cost us around 100million in compensation alone.
Which means having to hit the "reset" button every 12months.
