Illegal entry possibly, but that’s just depends on the current governments definition. However illegal entry doesn’t make that individual an illegal immigrant, it’s just how they enter the country. The UK government has basically made laws that don’t comply with international law which is why there have been no deportations and Rwanda still hasn’t happened.
Why they let them stay after claims fail? God knows, our government is a disgrace and screws up constantly. Loads of reports of deportation flights being blocked by the courts. Essentially, our government acts illegally al the time.
Why uk? All sorts of reasons. Friends and family, relatively decent rates of asylum claims being accepted, if claim approved, then outcomes to remain are good. Could even go back as far as “the empire” in that the uk has had influence across large parts of the world and that history still has impacts on people views of what the uk can offer.
There’s this fantastic system in the uk where once granted asylum people can actually work …. Amazing revelation I knowAll reasonable points. My original point about who is paying for the successful asylum seekers -- surely this is indirectly from taxation and other means where the government diverts funds.
If so, then if the levels of asylum seekers continue to rise surely this is a cost that needs to be paid from somewhere?
Unless im missing something and its through donations or an international body?
With Poland being in the news recently due to their way of life rising and them proudly stating they havent brought in asylum seekers (or many of them?) does this mean they have contravened international law?
I know in the last couple of years Japan was under alot of pressure to accept more and had to give in.
Here’s something else for your reaction score

Middle finger at the laptop with a big smile on your filthy face.
I responded to someone with the facts.
As if i knew what it was lol

I did a placement in an asylum/refugee service and it’s really annoys me how little people actually understand about it because of the media.
He’s been like farming off match previews for ages the little rat.

I think he might be Paul Gadd."I enjoy being able to experience and engage with different cultures, including living overseas and bothering the local women, but only the right kind of people, like me, should have this privilege".
That's what I'm taking as Zat's standpoint from this sorry little debate.

So people seeking asylum are not allowed to work (even though the majority of them want to). The claims are meant to be processed in 6 months but often take longer. All reasonable points.
