It will be moyes isn't it? Free and available, knows the club and the PL...has done well during his spell here and has probably overdelivered based on the players available to him. Question for me is if he is still relevant today as a coach/manager...
No because Moyes will be snapped up in Jan, and Dyche is here for the season.

I agree with this. There were people thinking we could attract Thomas Tuchel a few years back.

That Ancelotti took the job has skewed peoples expectations imo.

For where we are, and especially if we're going to be looking soon, it likely means taking a punt on someone which is an enormous risk or going for a safer candidate.

In turn that means that 90% of people will end up dissatisfied.

The only exception to that is someone like Unai Emery But even then Villa had stable ownership that are well resourced. TFG are well resourced too but a lot more work to be done here.
We can get a decent manager with investment budget and stable owners. We are miles off that so I’m not sure any should expect anyone other than a moyes type replacement if Dyche is sacked. Might be enough stay up but the footballs not imporoving

I assume Rangnick would be back in the frame if he was initially when they were taking over first time.
Rangnick is a peculiar one. He turned down Bayern in the summer. One wonders if he was already lined up by the Friedkins for us? I'm not saying he'd pick us over Bayern. I'm saying he'd perhaps pick us as a long-term project over what would likely be a short-term Bayern coaching job.

There also seems to be a little historic interest in us from him. He was on the short list when we appointed Bobby and prior to that attended some games at GP in the 80s. I’m not saying he will come but he seemed to have a bit of a soft spot for us.

Potter is the man for us, forget the Chelsea debacle as they’re a basket case of a club. Potter would have us challenging for the top six next season.
