Who, you?

Who, you?

You might have a change of avatar in the very near future!

I would been perfectly happy to have been called a Moyesette, I was a big fan of him when he was here and was very much in the 'careful what you wish for' camp when people assumed he was somehow holding us back.

I just can't get on board with the idea of coming back now at all though. I think that honestly could be the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of getting a season ticket etc - us starting a new era with new owners and a state of the art stadium and appointing a midtable manager who's approaching retirement age might just tip me over the edge. It would be an absolutely ridiculous, completely unjustifiable move. So in many ways David, welcome home.

I think this is very nuanced and covers my point really. I always liked Moyes, and honestly the following 10 years have really only re-enforced my view of how well he did.

But the 62 year old Moyes simple isn't the 40 year old Moyes. I'm not saying he is worse, but he is different. As a manager his strength was that he was a slow builder. I'm not sure he will be given the time to do that, and I think we need someone younger with a more fundamental vision.

Id also say, your first appointment as new owners is very important in setting the tone. Internally, but also to the wider football world. I'm not sure Moshiri ever really recovered from Koeman and Walsh, and certainly not when it was compounded with Allardyce. Any chance of putting in a proper structure was gone.

You don't get lots of opportunities to put the right structure in. And a 61 year old Moyes, who would alienate a section of the fans would be a missed opportunity.

If they sack Dyche & hire Moyes they'd have mountain to climb. The way he treated the club and fans is a disgrace.

If they sacked Thelwell and hired anyone below top class level and it was a clear coup for us then it would seem like making a change for the sake of it.

Based on Roma, worrying times
From what I've heard they are looking at Moyes until the end of the season and bringing him in just before or just after the City game. Whilst I don't agree with that approach, obviously they are very concerned about possibility of relegation to be considering it. I could live with that as long as he's not given any more time that that which is the danger and would frankly tip me over the edge!
