My first ever Pay packet was £3 16s 8d
just sayin like.
Edit; for 40hrs and the arl lady to £2.50... made all my sarnies and would sub me 10 bob of it back on Thurs and never take it when I offered it back on Friday...you offered without me asking and it's the thought that counts.
That £2.50 stayed £2.50 even when I was getting £20.00

Loved being paid cash weekly, if skint by Monday only 3 days to wait. My first wage packet in 1976 was £20 but £16.50 after stopages so we must have paid a fair bit of tax back then?

I had a pack the weekend so still out there, the peanut and coconut ones were the one's I didn't like but they took them out, the round flat ones were my fave
