The Oldies Thread

Everyone had these growing up, so folk probably still use them
The arl lady had 2 sets
One a manky set of everyday ones with stains and cracks in the handles.
And one set in a blue presentation box she got as a wedding present which only came out at Christmas and special occasions
...get the good knives out xxxxxx is coming for tea.
Eventually the everyday ones were getting worse and worse and finally after about 15 yrs the penny dropped and she said sod this "why am I using these old ones, get the good knives out they're no good sat in a box"
Out came the good ones...
The arl fella pulled his gob a bit and tried to put his foot down as it was one of his posh aunties (well dead by then) who gave them the canteen of cutlery - 'a look' was exchanged, what we kids used to call, the 'don't start yer mother' look and no more was said.
 


Go to Northern Ireland in 1974 and earn 17 quid a week. :lol:
