People were saying this about us in the summer. Besic Lukaku and Barry tied down. At some point it will go wrong at Southampton and it will come good for us. Those players aren't that great they are just riding the crest of a wave of confidence.

Not always. It's about how the players are managed mid to long term. A very good manager will get the best out of average-to-good players for long periods of time, look at Fergie, Mourinho and even Van Gaal & Pochettino are now working wonders with some real average players.
Oh come off it, I wasn't that keen on a deal for Barry personally. I thought he had a good season and did a job for us but wanted us to find a younger player for that role. Or at least only give Barry a year contract, which in hindsight would have been a year too long anyway!
I was delighted with the Lukaku deal, because he has everything you need to be a top striker, but again isn't showing it whatsoever at the moment.
Besic was never an exciting signing, and doesn't compare to the business other clubs are doing. This one actually shows us up the most. We were all relatively happy just to have added to the squad with Besic. While lesser clubs were off spending £10mill a pop on great european talent.
We need pace and creativity in the team, we only have Kev!

Only Chelsea, Man City and Southampton have conceded lesser goals than us. So yes, Van Gaal has made us more difficult to beat (10 games unbeaten run now actually).
I've only watched 4 Southampton games with him playing to be fair to him - although the first one I was amazed he was a professional footballer.
Not seen anything of note from him to make me change my mind in any of the other games either.
So his goals in the last few games don't count as anything of note? When I've watched him he's offered Southampton a great counter attack outlet and has been a nuisance to the opposition.
Didn't see the last 3 games mate so can't comment, the first game I saw of him he was absolutely terrible - can't for the life of me remember which game it was, the other couple of times I've seen him I've not been impressed.
Bony to City, got a feeling he'll absolutely smash it for them.
