Mate as I’ve said before, I don’t see the reason for any panic. We have games in hand. We are comfortably better than the teams below us and even some ahead of us who I think we will leapfrog come the end of the season.

We’ve come through a tough year of pandemic football, not being able to go the game and the financial implications of that - I think a lot of people are just appreciative of having the chance to go back to the ground this season and don’t want to get drawn into the negativity of nitpicking everything that the club says and does. We have a new stadium around the corner, a lot of people just choosing to see things positively!
Exactly what I'm talking about. On paper we may be "comfortably better" than the teams below us, but form tells a very different story. All of them are picking up more points than us. I don't understand how it isn't a massive flashing siren in everyone's heads.

They're picking up more points and if they continue to do so, we go down. We have 2 HUGE games against them that we have to win, yet our last away win was August. There's a difference between being positive and closing your eyes and ears to the reality.

I really hope you're right, but I don't trust those players to have the same fight and heart that we need.

It depends on how you choose to define form, across the season we’ve not been in the relegation zone once.

The pain in Carragher’s voice when he reflects on our late winner against Newcastle. The only other time I’ve seen him so disappointed was in early spring 2014 when it seemed they were gonna win the league the season after he finished.

yasee Burnley and Watford have shown nothing that suggests they could string a run of wins together so we shouldn't be worried about them. Problem is we have shown ourselves equally incapable so we should be worried... its one of life's great philosophical issues, when to worry....

The worrying factor is the players don't have any fight nor show any liklihood.

Simply we're looking over our backs

I'm not convinced of the view that we have better players than our relegation rivals (and it's just their lack of fight that has left us in the mire). Coleman, too old. Holgate, Iwobi, Kean, Godfrey, Gomes, Gordon, Kenny, Rondon & Alli are all not good enough for the Prem.

The over rating of our players has been going on for years. We’ve comfortably got the worst defence in the league with the slowest midfield. We’ve been abject for nearly 6 months now - that’s not a bad run of form, that’s endemic. The Burnley and Watford games scare the life out of me. We lose them we’re done I think

Can we start looking up instead of down.

If you think you’re beaten then you will get beat. Try something other than doom mongering.
The sad thing is that after our last league match we were all looking up. Then the next day Leeds turned around 2-0 at half time (with some awful refereeing helping them out of course) and we put in an absolute horror show against Palace.

I think we’re more likely to put together a run than our rivals though, look at the start of the season, same players minus Digne.
