Yeah i'm glad we play quickly after a defeat but like you said only if we win, the palace game will be big if we did get beat it would not set us up great for the cup game against swansea but if we win it will be a confident booster.

To explain a bit more about the formula,


The projection before the last round was Liverpool 75 points, we 71, Spurs and United 69


Now, Liverpool are on 76-77 points, we are on 70, Spurs 70-71 points while United on 67


Before we and United played yesterday, the difference was 5 points between us both, now its 4 points, current table suggest United gained 1 point on us but my table suggest they dropped a point, not the opposite, how?


Yesterday we were supposed to take a point and make the difference 6 points, later on United were supposed to take all 3 points and reduce the difference to 3 points.


Another example, drawing against Palace on Wednesday and taking only 1 point from a 3 pointer is twice worse than losing to Spurs (a game that was 1 pointer)

*We were a place higher.
*We'd lost a game fewer.
*We'd scored 3 more goals but conceded 4 more.
*Fourth place was 45 points and now it's 50 points.

If we can get into the last 6/7 games 3/4 maybe even 5 points off 4th then there is still hope. One silly defeat and were probably out but then one silly defeat for the RS and spurs and we are right back in it. Look at city, 1 point from there last 2 games were they was hoping for 6, but they are still in the title race.

Again chelsea's result against west brom just proves you can't really predict the results this season, teams are dropping points all over the place.

Got a very overwhelming schedule if you look at it. Couple of results don't go your way then you end up getting swallowed back up by the chasing pack. Not a great deal of threat up front either.

Our form since Christmas is not good enough to challenge for top 4, 1.3 point per game in the last 8 games, we now have to average 2.5 points per game (title winning form) in order to match Liverpool’s projected 78 points

As Arsenal took 1 pt from RS and United, finishing 3rd would seem to be a great accomplishment what a brutal set of fixtures. If they don't get 9 from Sunderland, @Stoke, and Swansea, I would not be surprised if they wilt in historic fashion.
