If TFG are adamant that they want Moyes and Moyes is equally adamant that he wants a lengthy deal of ( say 2.5 years ) give it to him but with break clauses on 6 and 18 months exercisable by the club if he hasn't hit agreed KPIs - say avoiding relegation in 6 months and top 10 on 18 months.

This gives everyone what they want.

Unfortunately this is too smart a thing for Everton to conceive

If he comes in can see him setting up as a 3-4-2-1 as he did when he first landed at West Ham

Think Mangala has ben on of our most consistant players. Not saying much I know.

A lot of steady the ship shouts and then move the club forward, I think people forget what a s**t show we where when Moyes took over last time, he 100% moved the club forward massively 16th or 17th to 6th or 7th his issues was the next step, if he can do the same again we would all be delighted.
It might not be the most exciting appointment but it is probably the right one and if we had appointed him last time instead of Carlo we would definitely not be in this position now.

Was thinking 18 months would be ideal. Get us through the end of the season and seriously look to stabilise the squad through the following year. 2 years plus is a proper commitment. That being said, it may be ok if the higher up positions can get sorted in that time. I’m all for a slow and steady rebuilding of the club instead of the big money scattergun approach, but still, we can’t be mugs

Staff who left West Ham at the same time as Moyes...
  • Nick Davies (Fitness Coach)
  • Rob Newman (Head of Recruitment)
  • Jamie Osman (Head of Analysis)
  • Billy McKinlay (Assistant)
  • Kevin Nolan (Assistant)
  • John Heitinga (First-Team Coach)
  • Henry Newman (Assistant)
  • Alan Irvine (Technical Advisor)
Shame Heitinga has already gone across the Park. Nolan is now manager of Northampton, so wont be coming. Other than McKinlay and Irvine, never heard of the rest and I presume he doesn't get a say on recruitment/analysis staff at this stage.

He inherited and kept Xavi Valero as GK coach from Pellegrini, who is still at the Hammers, so he will need to bring someone in with Billy Mercer leaving with Dyche.
