Think Mangala has ben on of our most consistant players. Not saying much I know.
Agree, he's looked good. More of a deep lying playmaker than a holding midfielder (can ball watch a little at times when the opposition have it) but it helps having someone who knows how to kick a ball properly, got great technique.

That's funny, I'm on a two year contract as well. But my job comes with a six month probationary period, maybe football clubs could learn a thing or two.

…..but football managers know they’re wanted and are in a position to demand certain things. A bit like @jazzy suggesting KPIs, it’s simply not going to happen. Bottom line is, Everton want Moyes and he’s in a strong bargaining position. He’ll pretty much get what he wants, including a massive bonus to keep us up this season.

Moyes’ career win percentage is 42.5%. It’s actually a bit of an insult to discuss him in the same breath as Sean Dyche.
And for our final season at Goodison we need wins. He had a 54% win rate at home (113 wins from 209 games). In those 209 games he lost 42 times which means he picked up a result in 80% of the games.

That works out at 1.8pts per game. We have 10 home games left so if he can replicate that, there’s 18pts and takes us 5pts from the heavenly 40.

I haven’t got the energy to look at his away form 🤣😩

This is pretty much the conflict between the fans of younger and older generations.

People that started following Everton in the bitter 90s think, I'd take that again the Moyes years again instead of being 16th, 15th, 12th, 17th or whatever.

People that witnessed Everton in the 70s and 80s winning multiple titles, think the best of the rest mentality doesn't do credit to one of the biggest clubs in the country.
No way

I want trophies and I’m not old

Moyes is a boring appointment

It'll be 6 months plus either a further 12 or 24.

They will dress it up as either a 1.5 year or 2.5 year deal straight off the bat. However, if he doesn't keep us up it's a 6 month deal as (1) he won't want to manage in the Championship and (2) We will no doubt want to try someone else if he doesn't.

If he does keep us up then he gets another 12 or 24 months as his reward automatically.

Staff who left West Ham at the same time as Moyes...
  • Nick Davies (Fitness Coach)
  • Rob Newman (Head of Recruitment)
  • Jamie Osman (Head of Analysis)
  • Billy McKinlay (Assistant)
  • Kevin Nolan (Assistant)
  • John Heitinga (First-Team Coach)
  • Henry Newman (Assistant)
  • Alan Irvine (Technical Advisor)
Shame Heitinga has already gone across the Park. Nolan is now manager of Northampton, so wont be coming. Other than McKinlay and Irvine, never heard of the rest and I presume he doesn't get a say on recruitment/analysis staff at this stage.

He inherited and kept Xavi Valero as GK coach from Pellegrini, who is still at the Hammers, so he will need to bring someone in with Billy Mercer leaving with Dyche.

Shame we couldn’t keep Mercer. Pickford has been excellent recently.

How many times did Moyes finish above 5th place exactly?
I can only remember once .
And I said Martinez had us vying ( challenging ) for 4th place not finishing in it .
The football was not just ‘nicer’ it was vastly superior and closer to the football that the former ‘School of Science’ should be playing than anything Dour Davey was capable of producing.
You don't like Moyes, fair enough. I don't think he is the best option for us just now either and will be a bit disappointed if he gets the job. There are a lot more progressive managers out there, and I think everyone wants to see us playing more attractive football than Moyes is likely to provide.

But still don't need to re-write history.

Could be a lucrative contract for 6 months mate, we will pay X amount in wages and a massive bonus if X manager kept us up.

It just doesn’t really happen mate, not anymore.

The players would be in the same mentality with stability. They knew the last manager wasn’t staying & now they’ve got one for 6 months?

TFG will just sack him if he’s not performing.

Let's all get behind the man who called Everton fans "A 'kin disgrace".

He better win one of his opening couple of games or this club's fan base will be all over this traitor like a rash.
The only proof of that is from a random blue. This doesn't seem like the argument to die for but I know you're just a kopite whose lived on this server for a long time because your wife is sick of you.
