I’m not particularly enthused by Moyes. But is he the last manager we had who left us in a better state than when he arrived?

If and when he takes back over, we’re basically in the same position as when he took us over first time round. Dreadful thought.

I'm going to choose to remember that last time around Moyes gave me several seasons of watching Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar play together, which by some distance is the best football I've seen us play.

You wouldn’t take that now?
I'd just about accept it for 6 months, after that no I wouldn't take it because we are going nowhere with Moyes as manager. We need to enter the modern football age, get a top class DOF in and appoint a progressive coach. That's the only way we are going to get any success. We are wasting the next 2 years with Moyes as manager if he's on a 2.5 year contract.

I’ll join you in that disappointment if he’s still here in August.

I don’t think he will be, and the apparent battle over the length of contract behind the scenes is what gives me that impression.
I think he's here for a minimum of 18 months (unless we're relegated). It'll be a 2 1/2 year contract, we ain't paying him an extra two years for a six month stint.
