Just in, david moyes watches first half of Peterborough game and sees the garbage available to him and says to the friedkins thanks but no thanks

I'm not having that Moyes would take a 6 month deal here. It's not really a win for him unless if he's offered a big incentive to keep us up.

Make no mistake about it the best shape we’ve been in as a team was under Moyes in our recent history, he can work with the squad we have an is a stop gap until the summer. Whilst I think it lacks imagination it’s a pragmatic choice given Dyche had clearly given up and TFG had to do something.

6 month deal would be fine

And that's all it needs to be, essentially he takes over the same remit Dyche had but a fresh voice etc.

I think this season now is just grimly holding onto 1-0s when they present themselves. Pretty much a replica of doing what was required in the final three months of the previous relegation escapes.

However if he suddenly turns Doucoure back into Cahill regenerated and also gets far more out of Ndiaye in final third then perhaps you could make a case for him leading the club into the new era but I'd have my doubts on that. He'd need to survive relegation very comfortably and I'm not sure it's going to happen like that.

Couple of issues.

Who signs for the club when the manager is leaving in six months?
For the contracted players, who remains committed to a manager who is leaving in six months?

Also. We have so many players out of contract in summer. Next season is going to be a complete transition too.
Its sensible and pragmatic to have someone steer the ship through choppy waters.

Clearly he’s already been sounded out on his willingness to take a short term deal, we where never after Potter we are trying to get to the summer it’s always been the strategy IMO.

I doubt it will be a short term deal myself mate. By that I mean just an initial 6 months, without promises.

I see him him here for 18 months min.
