If that's the case it might be ok. But are you going to get the same commitment and drive from a manager who knows they're going? Moyes seems a safe pair of hands but even so, safety isn't guaranteed. He had some awful runs of form with us.
Do you think he wants to be remembered as the manager that took us down? I think that threat would be motivation enough. His time at Everton was clearly the high point of his career and he won’t want to tarnish that

True. Fair point

If it’s only till the end of the season then I think it’s okay

If he keeps us up then he can go on his way with our thanks and the owners can bring in a more progressive manager going forwards

It’s not like he’s coming back for another 11/12 year stint

Has this club not learnt it's lesson from Kendall's endless failed returns?

I'm fed up with this club and our fans constantly looking back not forward. Everyday on social media you see "bring him back" "re sign him" "get Big Dunc" etc etc to previous employees of the club.

I don't want Moyes back under any circumstances and that's before I get to him talking to Man Utd behind our backs, deliberately running his contract down so we go no compo off one of the richest clubs in the world and putting in derisory bids for our players when he was there.

He did a good job when he was here but he's now yesterdays man and people are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think someone with an ego the size of Moyes will take a deal just to the end of the season just to be dispensed with in the summer.

He wouldn't just go after 6 months though. And his football would be on a par with Dyche.

Moyes would be the worst choice possible!

Just like Moyes - the rumours of Bill's demise have been gravely overstated

Some people are never happy it seems.

It is clear TFG wanted to make no change until the summer but it is becoming clear that SD felt he could do no better at Everton, results were terrible and TFG knew they had to act.

I think the managers that most would like are simply not available now and David Moyes, if it is him, gives us as good a chance of staying up as anyone.

Moyes for eighteen months working with Carsley and Coleman and/Baines might be worth looking at with Carsley to step up at a future date.

We will simply have to wait to see how long the deal is if it is Moyes.

Moyes has previously worked with Carsley, Coleman and Baines.
