I'd question anyone saying that Moyes brand of football was always negative, we had peeks and troughs throughout the years dependent on personal. His final season for example with Gibson and Osman in centre mid behind Fellaini as a number 10, and Miralles/Pienaar on the wings actually produced pretty decent football.
Tbf we were probably playing our best football under Moyes just as he left.

This forum will explode if we lose the next two games.

The club will be in free fall and panic will set in.

Great job by these Texans.

I've probably been a bit harsh on Moyes.

We should be grateful of the time he wouldn't accept a big money bid, for wantaway Lamine Kone. Remember him?! We wanted him to replace Stones. Thankfully, we got Ashley Williams instead and the rest they say, is history.

My only concern is not having him at the club when we go to the new stadium. I can put up with him this season and continuing in the same zombie I don’t care mode I’ve already been in since Dyche came in.

However all that time it’s been with the hope that the new owners/stadium would bring something we could really get behind, the prospect of some progression.

If this guy gets a couple of season with us, It’s another period of utter disinterest for me, just counting the days until the inevitable sacking

Have tbh. I liked Moyes during his time at the club. At the time I was probably one of his biggest advocates on here. In the end it felt as though he overspent his time here for at least five years. Has probably the safest job in world football, except maybe from Wenger at Arsenal.

The 'plucky little Everton, punching above their weight' narrative by the media was something both he and his pal Kenwright were quite happy to adapt. Hitting that glass ceiling, no pressure at all for both that way.

Also the manner in which he left after that 'era' left a lasting sour taste in my mouth. If I remember correctly he actually was still officially employed by Everton, while trying to tap up Bainsey and Fellaini.

Moyes undoubtedly and undeniable is part of our past. And imo he should stay exactly that.
100% agree he got stale at the end, maybe because he hit the limits because he didn't get supported financially or he just ran his course. And I also blame Everton for not putting him out on gardening leave as soon as he signed up for United, but he was a rat when he left with his tapping up and public dealings trying to get players from Everton.

He should be part of the past and left there, however looks like I for one am going to have to bite my cheek if he rocks up. Hopefully he has an uneventful 6 months and we stay up without problems and the new owners go diligently about putting in a more long term strategy for success.

Oh I’m not a great fan of Bobby , but for one season at least he took Dithering Davey’s team and had them playing scintillating football and vying for 4th place .
Far better than anything Moyes served up in the previous 11 years.
Martinez took a Moyes team to 5th place. Moyes did that (and better) about 5 times.

Yes the football was nicer to watch under Martinez, but let's not re-write history.

Wouldn't disagree - generally theres teams that'll go down no matter the manager. I think it's true in both Dyche at Burnley and Moyes at Sunderland's relegation seasons.

Just out of interest, im sure you’ve already commented on this, do you think David Moyes is a better manager than Dyche?

I've said we were, IMO, deep into - Anybody But Dyche territory, so I can't really complain.

But Moyes ffs 🤮

Still, he hasn't got to get us playing like 1970 Brazil, just Improve us from about 0.89 pts per game from the first 19 games
to say 1.1 for the next 19.

Could Dyche have done that? we'll never know for sure, but it wasn't looking good.
Can Moyes...if he indeed arrives...or Baines for that matter
