The season fizzling out...

Think we all are mate.

Combination of us going flat, no fans, VAR etc.

I was only thinking about this recently. The poisonous effect VAR is having has been masked by empty stadiums. It's such a dreadfully anal and tedious process. If we can't celebrate goals anymore then who in their right mind would think that's a good introduction?

To be fair our form against the better teams in the league has been class this season (apart from United and City) 3pts from Chelsea, 4 from the RS, 4 from Leicester, beat Arsenal and Spurs etc
When the best 11 is fit we are top 4 side challenger for me now. The first team squad is weak but could push into Europe, will be down to game management with touch of luck.

Not changing my monthly contract idnet broadband and phone (next week), just in case I need TV broadband contract for the Europe finish.

After the start we made, very disappointed how the season has panned out regardless of injuries. Yeah it's been a bit of a let down all be told.

Surely the continuing VAR farce and the crazy rule on delayed offside flagging will not be allowed to blight next season as well as this? Do we have to follow what other countries do?

With the August excitement of the midfield signings now a very distant memory I’m looking at the remaining games and wondering if we will see another victory this season. Given the declining standard of football we are seeing and looking at the games that lie ahead I wouldn’t even be confident of beating Sheffield United who may well be relegated by the time the fixture comes round. That normally means relegated teams start picking up once they have their fate sealed. The rest of the games look really tough now whereas earlier in the season they didn’t. Anyone else contemplating zero wins between now and 23rd May. It could be a disastrous end to a promising season. I’m not normally this pessimistic but just feel drained of all expectation just now.
Might be veering off topic slightly, but what with lockdown and everything else going Everton's season just fits into the overall landscape. Personally speaking. A big old sea of meh.

Hold on how long is it since the RS beat us?
Tide has turned on Merseyside!
But they will still finish above us. So our whole season was about winning there, which is something Burnley, Fulham, Chelsea, Brighton and Man City were also able to do.
It’s a bit sad really that this should be the highlight of a whole campaign.
