The small world of Eddie Howe

Howe is a good coach. Only problem is Bournemouth have one objective stay in the prem. That should be our aim right now like but going forward can he cope with the pressure. Can he cope being up north, didn’t like Burnley for personal reasons. Some of his signings have been shocking but we have made ones to to be fair. With brands that will be different.Defensively his teams leaks goals and gets few heavy defeats now and then. If we hired a good defensive coach and signed another cb in January that could improve. But Howe will want choice of back room staff and that’s probably his coaching team he has right now. I think he is the best British coach right now, but I have doubts about the size of the job on hand. The problem is we don’t know for sure until he is given the chance same for all mangers.

I want Howe in the way he united afcb in an awful situation with no money and bought them up through the leagues. He’s done an unbelievable job and realistically no top top manager will want to come to us.

Yeah I couldn’t abide by him given what I’ve said about Silva and his managerial history pre Everton. I get we’re never appointing some serial winner but someone getting a small skint club into the PL isn’t exactly an uncommon feat is it? Despite what the media make it out to be.

He's done a great job at Bournemouth, anyone who says anything different are talking nonsense. We are talking about a club no bigger than Barnsley etc going up the leagues & staying in the prem. That said, I don't want him for us. Not because I don't rate him, far from it. He is a good manager but he is an English Silva & Martinez with the 'potential' tag. We need more, we have been there & done that with that that type of manager, we need an experienced top end manager. Over to you Marcel

Totally agree. We need to pull something out of the bag. I dont think Howe is much of an improvement. Defensively suspect. If we cant pull one out if the bag I'd prefer to go full on for arteta. I think he might have something.

A manager in his 30’s taking a club from League One to the Premier League is rather uncommon.

Keeping them there without ever really coming close to relegation is rarer still.

Doing so with the youngest squad in the league, playing attractive Football is unique.

Mate he's never finished in the European spots yet you expect him to rock up here and do it regularly?

This is the problem we keep appointing midtable managers and expect them to push on a level with the club which doesnt happen.

Utd also tried it with Moyes and it failed.

Moyes was our level not Utds.

Howe is Bournemouths level not Evertons.

We need to go abroad and get someone with a credible record/high potential.

And which part of that suggests he has the credentials to take a club that is nothing like that and get them to consistently qualify for Europe and maybe win a pot or two?

Why would he come to Everton? He's well liked at Bournemouth which is a most pleasant place to live.

The only "boooooos" he is likely to encounter are in the seafront wine bars.

I’d be devastated if we got him in. Another couple of years of nothingness. Honestly, I am sick to death of us, Liverpool storming league and CL, while we appoint ANOTHER manager from a smaller club, who has won 1 in 8, and sees fit to pay £40m for Solanke and Ibe.

Also, where is this beautiful attacking football coming from? Bournemouth? They are horrible to watch.

Would you have expected him to finish in the European spots with Bournemouth?

Half the team are players he fielded in League One and the Championship, he’s spent to keep them in the league and made them a stable top flight club.

We appoint the wrong managers, full stop. We don’t appoint the wrong “type” of managers.

So, you want a manager with experience of taking a mid-table team into the European spots? A bit like Marco Silva did with Estoril? A bit like Koeman did with Southampton? Like Allardyce did with Bolton?

It’s nonsense.
