The small world of Eddie Howe

Ok, so the fact he quit Burnley, after doing an excellent job there, EIGHT years ago means that

1) He has no fire in him
2) He accepts lack of effort and mediocrity
3) He’s incapable of working in the North.

Peculiar rationale but each to their own.

He’s Martinez Mk2
He’s Silva Mk2

He spent 34 mil Solanke and Ibe.

His teams go on mad losing streaks, just like Martinez and Silva - they’re on one now.

It would be a like for like replacement for Silva.

The support for his appointment is hardly universal amongst the fan base, same as Martinez, same as Silva.

Do you see where I’m going with this.

The only realistic manager I would take currently working in England is Biesla.

Attainable
No nonsense
Drills his players
Has a way of playing and doesnt change from it to fit in square pegs.
Takes no BS from the media/officials

Exactly what we need.

Madness.

Literally all of that is perception. All managers at this level are disciplined, otherwise they wouldn’t be at this level.

Bielsa bottled it with Leeds last year. Leeds practically led the table all season and they lost 4 of their last 7 games, winning just 2 to fall into their playoffs where Derby knocked them out.

The only way in which he is similar to Martinez and Silva is that he’s currently working for a smaller club.

All managers, even the best ones, make poor signings, do they not? In fairness, Solanke could yet prove to be a shrewd signing. He’s only 22, he’s a golden ball winner for England just 2 years ago, his talent was recognised by Klopp. He’s got time.

It doesn’t really matter if they lose 3 or 4 in a row, they ultimately finish where they finish - which is admirable.

There is no universal support for any manager within our reach.

Yet you seem to be the only one on here flying the flag for Howe.

Mate he's never finished in the European spots yet you expect him to rock up here and do it regularly?

This is the problem we keep appointing midtable managers and expect them to push on a level with the club which doesnt happen.

Utd also tried it with Moyes and it failed.

Moyes was our level not Utds.

Howe is Bournemouths level not Evertons.

We need to go abroad and get someone with a credible record/high potential.
Without looking for an argument, enlighten me to what our level is? hate to break it to you but for years we have been in that mid tier bar the odd season. Granted we have ambition or at least that is the 'talk' from the club but let's call it for what it is, we have some real problems to address so for me we need an experienced operator. I know who I would like but at this moment in time we are not attractive enough for that calibre wether we like it or not. That is why I am not against Benitez coming in. He knows the league, knows how to organise & has a wealth of experience.

I hate hate hate hate Howe, and am sure it'd be disastrous.

But he'd have me giddy in that first press conference if he said boyhood blue. That'd get him about a weeks' worth of support.
Could hire you Con and have the same effect, I’m done with Everton if we go for him.

We are still Leicester and Wolves level - those two would not appoint Howe and have gone for higher calibre.

Its simple for me - you appoint a Howe/Dyche/Moyes you are happy to join the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Watford and Bournemouth in this league whilst the likes of the top 6 + Leicester and Wolves fight for Europe.

I appeared to be the only one on here saying Rodgers would be a good shout too. And the only one suggesting all might not go so well with Kean. And the only one suggesting Leicester have a better team than we do. And the only one saying Newcastle wouldn’t go down. The majority are rarely right with these things.
