The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I think there's a perfectly reasonable argument to say we didn't coach him properly.

I don't think there's anything behind that argument at all, it's nothing more than finger pointing, as the lad didn't improve much beyond what he was at 19, doesn't mean that it was the coaches who handled him that were to blame for the fact that the lad himself had the positional sense of an under 11 at times.

So what you're saying is that Moyes's style of play and satisfaction over playing crab passes, thus encouraging them, has nothing to do with Rodwell playing crab passes?

Or that Moyes himself said that he doesn't know what his ideal position would be, trying him out at different roles while he was doing well before that?

I don't believe that, sorry.

Moyes hated crab passes, though. He wanted the first ball to go at least 80 miles into the air and sixty yards forward.
What I meant is that he seems to have the idea of "keeping possession" is just passing it from side to side with no movement whatsoever, so that crab passing is okay by his standards, it seems.

You're also right though...

It wasn't Moyes fault when he'd get caught way out of position, or chase back half heartedly after losing a runner in midfield.

The lad just wasn't that good, which is why when he went most match goers that I know weren't arsed, in fact they were made up as we all thought City had been fleeced, as his injury record was awful as well. (& still is, as he's got chocolate hamstrings)

At our worst under moyes, we would spend five minutes passing it around our midfield and then back to jags to kick it into touch.

Agreed - it's all a bit 'off topic'

It's a by-product of having all the transfer rumours limited to one thread IMO. Normally, if somebody posted a rumour about Rodwell returning all talk of Rodwell vs Neville and suspect hamstrings would be confined just to that thread and if the rumour was complete ****e it would disappear off the front page after a day or two. Having them all in one place means other rumours that many people would probably like to discuss get lost in a sea of fume and tit-for-tat posts about a rumour that died out 3 days ago.

Why is there no rumours in the transfer rumour thread, can someone make some up please

Sure.

Heitinga is going and being replaced by Alderweireld.

Luca Marrone is coming in on loan with option to buy.

Magaye Gueye is going by used as a creative attacking midfielder, not a winger so he is staying.

The end.

P.s. Felli is going to go but not until 11.59 deadline day. We will scramble to bring in Vadis Odjidja Ofoe but wil miss out and stick with Osman instead.
