A huge test ahead for Martines, how will he handle the Fellaini situation?
Most probably Moyes will make a low offer (18M) which if we rejected will [Poor language removed] Fellaini who will become unhappy and will force a move, that’s what Moyes thinks anyway, but with the World Cup ahead, Fellaini cannot afford to be unhappy or below average, on the contrary, he should give 200% even if he was forced to stay here against his will.
The clause expired, so if anything, we should look toward 30M, if no one is paying that, fine, let him stay, but even if he stays, we are short in CM, somehow I think Martines wants to sell him in order to use the money to buy CMs, but selling him below the clause will make him appear weak, he is the manager of Everton now, not Wigan, he should stand up against Moyes or Wenger or anyone else, this is a huge test to prove himself if he is up to the job (being a manager is not just about football and tactics, its also about how to handle such things)
Selling Fellaini for 18M and using all of the money to buy McCarthy simply means he is not good enough to manage a club like Everton. On the other hand keeping Fellaini (and Baines) and loaning someone like Barry along with the rest of the deals this summer makes it an excellent transfer window and gives Martines 9/10
