The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I don't even come on here everyday so you are bloodly wrong. Like I said, you can praise deadwood like Osman even he had done badly. Isn't that the same old tired all over again?

I was at the game yesterday and giving my opinion on Osman's performance solely based on yesterday. I actually think Osman is the weak link in the team at the moment, but unlike yourself i am happy to change my opinion when/if the need arises, ie Osman having a half decent game yesterday and not just needlessly bashing him because it suits my agenda.

For a club like us with the finances we have, we simply cannot break our transfer record and spend 15M on a player from the Championship who was signed for 1M four years ago.

I have no problem with signing McCarthy, the problem is with the quoted price, 15M can buy you “Fer” and “Capoue” (with 2M is spare)

McCarth is worth 6M max, if we didn't buy him now, no one will with the quoted price and Wigan's chances of winning promotion is slim, playing in the championship and not winning promotion will make his price eventually drop

Cobain loves McCarthy. What would he become Irish Rooney blah blah blah. If McCarthy is that good, the teams around us would have signed him up this summer. £15m is like flushing money into toilet and a club like us cannot afford to make mistake with that amount of money.

We need a proper anchor in midfield. People keep saying that we have Fellaini for this as a DM, but they are missing the fact that Fellaini runs everywhere causing trouble and if he's doing this then he's clearly not being the anchor.

Ideally, a rock solid beast who no one can get past while also being able to pass to a blue shirt 90% of the time. Who this could be? No idea, but it's not my job to find that player and I'm sure Martinez and the scouts know who could potentially do this for us.

I will change my opinion on certain aspect if we end up finishing 6th or even 7th this season.

You getting angry again sunshine ?? making things up ??

Martinez will buy whoever he thinks can do the job he wants them to do and for a price he feels is fair and that we can afford.... regardless of what I think or how much you moan aout it. It is really that simple.

I'm already pissed off at Fellaini being sold and the money disappearing once Martinez signs McCarthy for 12m!

Devestating transfer window if so.

First XI weakened, money completely wasted on Kone and McCarthy.

DON'T LET IT BE!

Making things up? You may refer to your signature.

As to McCarthy, yeah I do agree, Martinez will go for someone he trusts.

Fair do's fella. What aspects are you likely to change if we do manage to finish 6th or 7th?

For me i sit on the side that you have to give Martinez time to build the club not just the team to the way he would like it. That's Philosophy/scouting/training/youth development etc.

To say Martinez out if we do not finish 6th or 7th is a bit harsh i feel. Yes if we are sliding towrds relegation etc then i agree we need to move quickly but for his first season in charge, we realistically need to to be looking top 10. After he gets his first full season under his belt and somehow new players that he would like to use for the system he is moulding then i agree we should be looking higher.

I must admit i was pleasantly surprised yesterday. I thought the football was good and we should have won comfortably, if we can build on this performance then we should/could have a successful season.

ey lads, Serious question here.

I'm not the brightest in the money department but I'm just wondering, every club is probably in debt from what I was reading somewhere apart from Blackpool and some others.
Why is it only us who worry about all this? Surely Norwich are in debt and they are outspending us?
Don't give me sh1t if I'm totally wrong.

If we do manage to finish say 7th this season then I do believe Martinez has similar quality as Moyes, that is at least to give stability (top half PL club status?) to this club given we have limited resources. I still have question over his signings. Will he be able to sign gems for low price and guide them to become international players, thus selling them when stocks are high? We all know that this is the method for this club to survive because we are skint.

He inherited a top 6 side from Moyes so for me, if we finish below the like of Swansea and West Ham (yeah how?) then that is quite a failure. I believe that there is a huge gap in terms of quality between the top 7 team and the rest.

Something I can agree with you harris. I do think the team played alright yesterday. The same old, we played well but failed to get 3 points despite the run of play. Norwich were lucky with their goals although our defence lost concentration at the sametime.
