RM will need to meet the squad, see them play, talk to the coaches (perhaps even DM), discuss the budget and THEN look for suitable players.
He will have been scouting for Wigan not Everton so the same players will not fit the bill.
I for one am glad he is taking his time and not rushing into buying the first man he sees who can kick a ball.

Mate, Martinez is are manager NOW!. Weve payed the compo for him and he signed up the other week. We didnt bring Martinez in a la Moyes cos his deal was running out. He is Everton FC manager now and can start transfers and what not right away.
He may well start doing his business later on but if he as got a decent kitty it would be wise to get players in before pre season IMO.
And the likes of Nowrich and Southampton havent really got big debts, if any at all, i know Norwich havent and are flush with cash cos of the new TV deal. Villa may well be but have Lerner to fall back on.
Were in debt but havent got investors behind us like most clubs in the prem that are in debt, the likes of ya top 4, the sh!te, Spurs even Fulham!. Other teams like ya Swansea's arent in debt but run very well and cos of the new money coming in, can spend a bit.
Were run by mugs and in debt and most of the new TV money coming in will go to servicing our debt and thats why i think we'll be lucky if we have something like £10m to spend before sales!.

How true is that though, cos i dont believe that for one second. I know we bid for Negredo in Jan, but Bony?!. We clearly wanted a striker but pulled out of a deal for Bony, who is very good btw and was apparently available at 8-9 million?!. Doesnt sound right to me!.

Not necessarily!. Do you not think he studied us enough over the 3 times we played Wigan last year, and years before that, and knew are strengths and weaknesses?.
He may well access are squad but i think he'll already have an idea of what he thinks he needs and wants in our side to possibly improve us come next season.

We have all seen players perform and not perform under new managers. He will need to spend a lot of time seeing who will fit his style of play and also his style of man management. DM did things his way RM will want to change that and some players may not fit the bill.
As has been said earlier, duffy and jonny may well suit his game more, he may see if he can get more out of jelavic.
He will need to spend a lot of time watching them train and try different things.
It's mad to think that he will just tturn up and make purchases based on what he saw of a team under a different manager.

martinez studied our team and tactics and how to play against us. He didn't watch videos of us and look at weak positions and then go travelling around the world scouting for players that would help improve us!
he's not been here long, people need to chill ffs. Everyone on here is moaning at him looking at alcarez because it's a player he knows about; yet you're all moaning because he hasn't already decided for certain 3/4 players that will definitely improve us and bought them already!
also i thought lovren was going for free with the way everyone was gutted about him going to saints. He's going for £7m ffs, what would be the point in us spending what would probably be the majority of our budget on a centre back when it's one of our stronger areas? he may not even start for us, why people get so angry?

Don't know enough about either of them. I'm not going to fall into the trap of saying that because Lovren is an international and young he must be better. By that logic Heitinga should be utterly boss. World Cup finalist innit.
