Would love De Guzman here. Energetic, fast, strong, good passer. Far better than McCarthy and would imagine much cheaper.

Yeah there's not many like him around. If his first season is anything to go by then he could be as good value as Cahill was, who always seemed to be the benchmark when talking about bargain signings.

Not a bad shout that actually. He played RCB at Wigan this season didn't he? By all accounts though Stones may well be ready for the new season.

We can't have two 6 ft CBs, they are too small as a pair. And I think Figueroa is 180cm tall only and is 30.

We can't dismiss Barkley though. This could be his season.

I could live with taking a gamble and not replacing Fellaini and giving Barkley that slot for a whole season, as long as we took the money and went out and made a real statement of intent in the striker dept. Perhaps a Lukaku.

If Fellaini goes he could play alongside Gibson. I imagine the idea would be to develop him to sell him on to someone like United for a big profit in three years time.

No. You see I knew someone would say this.

McCarthy is not a Fellaini replacement. How many times did we play Fellaini as an actual midfielder?

If we want to replace Fellaini with a player it's a forward.

Distin will play one season only then you'd have Stones, Duffy maybe, Figueroa, Jagielka and we will probably jettison Heitinga if we can.

Lukaku would be a class signing, that sort of signing is the difference between a champions league place or not. We need a 20-30 goal a season forward.
