I've been doing my daily rounds of looking at players who I would love for us to sign, even though I know rightly we will never sign them. Found this lad, Alen Halilović, who got his first Croatia cap this season at just 17 years old. Done a bit of research and he's touted to be bloody brilliant.

Got me thinking, why do we never sign young foreigners? Teams in Italy and Germany always bring in young lads from abroad and they always go on to be great players, there is like a reluctance in England and in particular Everton.

Saying that, never seen him play nor know much about his style of play. Would still be nice for a 'wonderkid' to sign on.

GK Nyland, Molde £175k (According to transfermarkt)
RB Montoya £8.8m (Donati is a more reasonable £650k)
CB Martinez £6.6m
CB Bartra £5.3m
LB Blind £4.0m
CM Illarramendi £7.0m
CM Verratti £13.0m
CM Alcantara £19.5m
RF Insigne £9.7m
CF Morata £7.9m
LF Isco £22.0m

Nyland could be a no-brainer. I'd expect that his manager, Solskjaer, has already spoken with United about him though.

Martinez and Illarramendi from Real Sociedad could be the most gettable, but even they're likely to be out of our range. They have CL football to look forward to next season and both Barca and Real are most likely monitoring their progress.

Maybe Real would let us take Morata on loan?

I am not sure if they are as good as you think.

Any of of Fer, Chadli, Bony will improve our team instantly.

Aston Villa, mate, Aston Villa. Signing young players from lower divisions hasn't really worked out for them yet.

Yeah I mentioned that Nyland bloke a few pages back, would be a good signing. Don't think we could persuade any of the rest of them in that team to join us. Sociedad with CL football will be in no rush to sell their bright prospects. Could be a few more Norwegians available, they had a decent tournament.

How real are paper rumours then? When does it become a good rumour?

Yeah. We are Everton. We should be making signings like Leroy Fer, Nacer Chadli and Wilfred Bony. Players that will improve us instantly.
