The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Tell me that this thread isn't full of talk of selling Fellaini and replacing him with a couple of 6, 7 or 8 million pound players.

Southampton and Norwich are already doing that, without selling their best players.

Find it amazing the times I see people suggesting We sell The big fella, sell Leighton, so we can bring others in,
I have never came across this sort of thing in other seasons, get a grip ffs,you don't sell your best players unless you have to

A Question [and a honest answer would be appreciated]; despite all the extra Sky Money we have received/are about to receive for this season, are we waiting for Fellaini to be sold before we can buy?

Just seems that way, or have we not bought yet because we have not received the Sky money yet?

If the latter, that just confirms that none of the "Board" is prepared to even "loan" us some money, so that we can purchase early...or are we just that much in debt that we have no money to "loan" against...

Tks

Surely we need to build on what we have.....Martinez apparently will give youth a chance.

Has any rumoured war chest figure been mentioned......? Sorry but I hate this time of year in the footie calender , so try to avoid rumour and speculation and that means living underground at times.

Hopefully, if we are lucky, we might be able to to match the expenditure of Norwich and Southampton, but obviously we can't keep up with the big boys like West Ham, who are clearly far bigger than Everton these days.

I'm hoping for a respectable 10th place finish next season, but I'd take 12th right now.

You do realise that west ham had any Carroll last season don't you?

I don't think I've seen anyone suggest that we should sell baines.

The honest answer that you ask for is that none of us know.

Did anybody watch the Confederation game last night between Nigeria and Uruguay ?
John Obi Mikel(Chelsea) scored a wonderful goal, the game made him look better than I have ever seen him at Chelsea.
Judging players in tournaments like this can be very difficult and it is possible to get an incorrect opinon of a player.
Managers will rarely buy a player on the strength of their performance in tournaments of this kind.I think these games may be the final tipping point after a lot of scouting and research.
Yeah - I thought that Musa looked handy.

Obviously this post isn't to be taken literally.

West Ham aren't bigger than us yet they have money and we don't, how we've been in the Premier League for its entirety yet still can't muster a pot to piss in is beyond worrying as is the failure to fund a new stadium.
The book stops with this shambles of a board yet they have successfully managed to lower expectation to an all time low that we no longer see our team as Everton, the extreamly successful club that it was but the new plucky Everton who's chairman is the greatest living fan running a little family club.

I'm still finding it mildly funny that someone thinks West Ham are now better than us because they've spent £15m on a player they had last season anyway, but still finished way below us!

I am amused to say the least.

If Kenwright is to stick around for the next five to 10 years, as it appears will be the case, I think begrudingly it might be in our best interests to get rid of Baines, Fellaini and Heitinga (not arsed about him) this summer, free up 20m, 24m and 4/5m - so the best part of 50m - plus whatever Martinez was to be given before selling players (lol), maybe he'd have 60 - 65m to mould his team around the likes of Jagielka, Barkley, Coleman and Mirallas.

That money could get us a top class goalkeeper, the goal-scoring striker we badly need, an adequate replacement for Baines (or even Büttner from United in part exchange?) and still leave plenty left over for another three to four good players.

Football Manager mode on.
65m:
Soldado / Negrado - 15m
Begovic - 8m
Baines replacement - 5-7m
Ball-winning midfielder - 10m
New CB - 7-10m
Alcatraz - Free
Winger (eventual replacement for Pienaar) - 10m
= 60m

Saving on wages through Baines, Fellaini, Heitinga sale, plus Neville and Mucha off the books: 200k per week
New wages: 300k per week
The 5m left over from transfers works out just under 100k a week, which can contribute to the additional wages.

I don't want any of the above to happen, but it might turn out to be for the best, unless of course Martinez goes and spunks 15m on McCarthy and 5m apiece on McManaman and Kone.
