The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Our first signing last season was only on the 4th of july,There's plenty Of time. I think the way Martinez will deal is to buy the youth players he wants first to get them settled in quickly then go after the normal players

Yes but they were signings of David Moyes and I trusted him.

You miss out my last statement. I want international proven player. Nyarko was not international proven. Ok Kroldrup was a bad signing for Everton but he actually hadn't done that bad in Italy plus we only lost 1.5m on him.

So you rather spend money on local players even they are badly overpriced?

Tell me one thing, how the hell is Leroy Fer a proven international player?

Soldado for example, scored at every club he's been, proven in Spanish league, champions league and international level, that's a proven international in my eyes.

I like Leroy Fer because I've watched him and judged him with my own eyes but you want Fer, Chadli and Bony when I bet you haven't watched all them have even 1 game each yet you are so convinced they will take us forward.

There are people on here like Dutch who knows them all well because he watches that league so that's fair enough but a YouTube video isn't enough to sign someone.

Hopefully, if we are lucky, we might be able to to match the expenditure of Norwich and Southampton, but obviously we can't keep up with the big boys like West Ham, who are clearly far bigger than Everton these days.

I'm hoping for a respectable 10th place finish next season, but I'd take 12th right now.

Who are the 11 teams that you think could realistically finish above us ?

Well we clearly can't keep up with the likes of West Ham, and we will only be able to spend similar amounts to Norwich and Southampton once we have sold Fellaini, so I think 10th place will be a great achievement for a club like Everton

Can't see us finishing below 7th tbh. Of all the teams below us this season, I can only see the ****e finishing above us next season. Unless we have a complete disaster and under perform.

QPR spent a shedload and got relegated. There is more to a team's performance than the cost of their individual players. We beat West Ham at a canter at the end of the season and that was them with their new star signing.

We finished 14 points ahead of 8th place this season, never mind 12th.

Whilst I see what you're saying here (minus your obvious craving for bleach) West Ham etc may have spent money and will possibly spend more money but our first team still pisses all over their team.

The RS will have a good chance at overtaking us (assuming we don't make some shrewd signings) but I can't see anyone else doing so.

Agree. We finished 6th despite two of our best players in Mirallas and Gibson being injured for a combined total of 5 months of the season. Only a ridiculously negative outlook could see us dropping outside the top 10.

Every year it's the same...we can't keep up because other clubs are spending more than us and yet we have a squad they would crawl over broken glass to get at, we have five players in the under 20 squad.
West Ham and clubs like them would have to spend 100m to get to where Everton are today in terms of player quality.
