The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Whilst I see what you're saying here (minus your obvious craving for bleach) West Ham etc may have spent money and will possibly spend more money but our first team still pisses all over their team.

The RS will have a good chance at overtaking us (assuming we don't make some shrewd signings) but I can't see anyone else doing so.

will be interesting to see how much more WHU spend after jizzing all that on Carroll. Possibly not much.

QPR spent a shedload and got relegated. There is more to a team's performance than the cost of their individual players. We beat West Ham at a canter at the end of the season and that was them with their new star signing.

We finished 14 points ahead of 8th place this season, never mind 12th.

You're right man, I reckon we could possibly finish 8th, maybe even 7th, and it just doesn't get any better than that for a club like Everton.

Mind you, I'd be wary of the likes of Southampton and Norwich as they will be matching our expenditure without selling their best players. I think we will be lucky to keep up with them next year.

Soton will def be ones to watch, but can't see it this season myself. Too much of a gap to close IMO. They def have everything in place to become regular European challengers in the long-term though.

Hopefully, if we are lucky, we might be able to to match the expenditure of Norwich and Southampton, but obviously we can't keep up with the big boys like West Ham, who are clearly far bigger than Everton these days.

I'm hoping for a respectable 10th place finish next season, but I'd take 12th right now.

is this your attempt at a piss take. In what ball park are west ham in front of us? How are west ham far bigger than everton. Can't wait for this one.

Did anybody watch the Confederation game last night between Nigeria and Uruguay ?
John Obi Mikel(Chelsea) scored a wonderful goal, the game made him look better than I have ever seen him at Chelsea.
Judging players in tournaments like this can be very difficult and it is possible to get an incorrect opinon of a player.
Managers will rarely buy a player on the strength of their performance in tournaments of this kind.I think these games may be the final tipping point after a lot of scouting and research.

They are outspending us in the transfer market, they are willing to pay a premium for quality players. They aren't selling their best players just so they can then buy from the same market as Norwich and Southampton.

Don't like to get into ****ging matches on here, but your last 2 posts don't paint you in a good light.

They have signed 1 player who is decent who was their no 1 summer transfer target.

You don't consider your post to be a bit of an over reaction slightly?

They're outspending us mainly because they've only recently come up to the PL and their wage bill is far less than ours as a result. Their wage bill will creep up and up as they become established in the league and they suddenly won't have anything like they have now to spend on players imo

who their best players by the way? do they have players such as Fellaini, Baines who are wanted by a lot of champion league players. I would flip if our club wasted money on Caroll, his wages are more then our top earners and is underserved.

Tell me that this thread isn't full of talk of selling Fellaini and replacing him with a couple of 6, 7 or 8 million pound players.

Southampton and Norwich are already doing that, without selling their best players.

Norwich best player.

LOL

We'll finish above Southampton easily mate.
