The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Depends on your definition of "significant". Alcaraz and Kone are not examples of "significant" strengthening.

The choice we have is keeping Felli, sigining a couple of free / cheap / ex-wigan players who will not go up in value and then hoping that by selling Heitinga and Jelavic we can reduce the wage bill and bank enough sale proceeds to stop running at a loss; or selling Felli and Heitinga to release £25m for financing the purchase and ongoing salaries of DECENT new players who may well go up in value, whilst also ensuring we stop running at a loss.

I know which I'd choose.
It's just not though is it? We could choose to spend the TV money on new players.

You said so yourself earlier.

Jesus Harold Christ.

Le Fondre?!?!

He couldn't get a game for a side who's just been relegated, why the [Poor language removed] would he be good enough for Everton?

The question was "Who is better for £6m than Kone?"

Le Fondre at £3m or £4m, younger, scored more goals in the prem and did so mostly as a sub, is a valid answer to that question.

The answer to YOUR question, "Why the [Poor language removed] would he be good enough for Everton?" is he probably isn't. But Kone isn't either.

It is an option in as much as one could choose to do it. It is a foolish option in that it would see our financial position worsen.

I was deliberately restricting myself to options that didn't quicken the pace of our financial doom.

Do they? I've only ever seen Fourth_Official & davidmoyes call transfers before they're done.

I have to be honest; Mr davidmoyes is the only one on here who I trust implicitly when it comes to transfers...the rest are all chancers...much of a muchness, as the saying goes...

I'd certainly listen to all of them but as with any rumour, they have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Thebluefox on here is always worth trusting on here as well, although he very rarely divulges information anymore.

Le Fondre is a Championship standard footballer. Whenever he started, he played extremely bad for a crap team. You're happy to have sh1t at Everton? I rather Anichebe and Vellios play.

My, my, how very certain you are.

For goodness' sake. The only reason Le Fondre crossed my mind was as a cheaper alternative to Kone, in response to an earlier poster's question. Do you want Kone? No, me neither.

Just because Le Fondre would be preferable to Kone, and he would be, does not mean I want EITHER of them at Everton. I also suggested Finnbogason and Cornelius, both of whom would be better than Le Fondre, but I don't see you squawking about that.
