I'll probably be fuming if we sign him, as it would ultimately be for about 5 or 6 million which would be unbelievable.

Martinez, if he is thinking of signing players like that, needs to quickly realise who is in charge of now, and it's not Wigan ****ing Athletic FC.

They bought him for around £3M and he had a decent first season in the PL. I'm afraid that's how the game works. We got Beckford for free, gave him his PL chance, he had a decent season was sold for £2.5M. Swings and roundabouts.

I have to agree with you lad.

There are hundreds of strikers out there and if he is looking to sign a striker who is pretty average from his old club, I will seriously question his ability in scouting.

So the "reality" is that we do not have to "sell Fellaini in order to significantly strenthen the team" as you claimed earlier. The reality is we have a choice.

Depends on your definition of "significant". Alcaraz and Kone are not examples of "significant" strengthening.

The choice we have is keeping Felli, sigining a couple of free / cheap / ex-wigan players who will not go up in value and then hoping that by selling Heitinga and Jelavic we can reduce the wage bill and bank enough sale proceeds to stop running at a loss; or selling Felli and Heitinga to release £25m for financing the purchase and ongoing salaries of DECENT new players who may well go up in value, whilst also ensuring we stop running at a loss.

I know which I'd choose.

Le Fondre?!?!

He couldn't get a game for a side who's just been relegated, why the [Poor language removed] would he be good enough for Everton?
