Seriously, he is currently playing well in both Bolton (I watched some of his matches 'cause Korean telly broadcasted matches of teams that have Korean players last season) and the National team. also, will help for marketing in Korea. Besides Ji-Sung Park, he is most favoriute player for Koreans.

The point is that you CAN'T buy an established prem striker for that sum, not one with any longevity at least. At £5m you're looking at the likes of Finnbogason, Cornelius or maybe Le Fondre. All of whom have youth compared to Kone, and all of whom I'd prefer.

My personal preference re strikers would be to see what happens when all the dust has settled at Chelsea - someone decent is likely to be available, although it may be at a higher price or on loan. I'd rather spend the cash on purchasing young wingers (Ljajic, Marin, Chadli, Belhanda, someone like that), freeing up Mirallas to play behind the striker.

Now I would not mind Kone at all, always looked good when I have seen Wigan last season. I would however rather spend the money on Gary Hooper, he has a lot going for him; pace, trickery, fox-in-the-box, but also able to do things on his own.

How about we spend more than a measly £5m out of the £20m+ we've just received from TV rights to improve the weakest area of our team? Then we wouldn't be discussing aging, average players like Kone.

We've lost £2.5m p.a. off the wage bill with Neville's departure, there'll be the saving on Moyes £65k per week, as well as Mucha & der hammers departures.

We lost £9m this year.

We replaced Moyes with Martinez, and paid compo of £2m for Martinez. Even if he's on a lower wage (say £2m a year compared to Moyes' £3m), we've not made a saving.

Mucha and Hitz were on what, maybe £1m each per year (£20k a week each)? Even if they were on £2m each per year, we've still only saved £6.5m a year against a current loss of £9m a year.

Felli earns between £3.5m and £4m a year; we currently make a loss, and need more players. Felli is the obvious sacrifice because his is the biggest wage AND he'll generate the most funds.

He will cost more then 5 million, plus its easier to look good in the Scottish league. They have rejected a bid of 4 million from Hull, they will want around 8 million.

With regards to the debt it was about 38 million pounds the season we razed about 32 million from player sales that was never reinvested and now where 40+ million in debt.
I think we might have about 5-6 million to play with max before sales.

For clarity, are you suggesting we are only around £6m in debt?

I do understand your final line though. It's often used when people realise they can't substantiate their earlier outlandish claims.

We CAN'T significantly strengthen the squad without selling Fellaini. That's my opinion, and you're welcome to disagree.
