The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Why do you think we're linked with Kone? It's because it's what we can afford, I've no idea how much exactly we have to spend but I'm pretty sure we can't move for someone like Bony unless we sell first.

For £5m it's a decent prospect, he's 29, so the majority have already reacted in a negative light but his goal scoring record is 1 in 3, pretty decent if you ask me. And probably better than what we have up front at the moment. I wouldn't be against him signing if it was for a decent price.

Who has linked us with anyone apart from some imaginative journos?

Everton join Newcastle in transfer race to buy Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang off St Etienne

Russians Anzhi are also eyeing the striker, but he has gone on the record saying he wants a move to the Premier League

Roberto Martinez wants to hijack Newcastle’s move for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he tweaks the squad he inherited from David Moyes.

The Geordies fear the Goodison club are major rivals for the £15million-rated Gabon star, who this week expressed a desire to move to the Premier League.

Aubameyang is also wanted by Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, and the developing bidding war could spell bad news for Newcastle’s pursuit of the 24-year-old.

Everton could soon be cash-rich if the sale of Leighton Baines raises up to £17million from Manchester United and Marouane Fellaini is sold to a Champions League club.

Martinez has also been linked with a £6m swoop on previous club Wigan for striker Arouna Kone, and with Vitesse Arnhem hitman Wilfried Bony, who is also a Swansea target.

Everton are also in for Birmingham's England Under-21 winger Nathan Redmond.

Can't see this happening.

If we are struggling to put a bid in for Redmond at 2/3 million were are we going to get 15 million plus for this guy every year we are the poor boys of the league I'm generally a very positive fan always looking on bright side but I fear for us this year although do like the fact we have a few younger players that will hopefully push on

This might be the year we will need the younger players to push on, from my point of view of what Bill and Elstone said at the EGM we won't be seeing any of the new TV money. Basically without selling our best players we won't be able to afford to buy anyone.

Am sure sombody else said this and it was pointed out that they said they wanted to reinvest in the squad weather they will or not remains to be seen like. So where are you getting that they said we won't see any of the money from? Sounds like you've been listening to davek to much mate.

In fairness I wasn't reading it all in detail but when I saw about spending on infrastructure alarm bells rang in my head, the bull**** radar told me they're squirreling away the lot!

I hope the directors realise that the C100mil isn't guaranteed, and that most teams are fortifying their squads with some of it in advance to make sure they're in the PL when it's distributed. It's going to be a hard competitive season without our change of management.
Just thought i'd get that off my chest lads.

Good point! A lot of clubs do seem to be making ambitious bids for players at the moment. If we don't improve then we'll soon slip down the table.
