His reading of the game is awful for CB, but with Jagielka it wouldn't be so exposed. And he would be actually a decent replacement for Distin. Plus he can play as LCB in 3-man defense :).
 

I would love us to get Diame, thanks to clause in his contract he is probably cheaper than McCarthy and he's quality for me and would be perfect to play alongside Gibson. But his wages expectations are quite extreme...

Absolutely hate that.

We've obviously been watching the same player. And have formed an opinion. I like a few others think James McCarthey isn't very good, and certainly not good enough for Everton.
 
I rate James McCarthy, but not at 15m, and he's not the sort of centre mid we need, we need a box-to-box type, like Fer or Capoue, that's why we bid for 3 of those players, James McCarthy's just a mix between Osman and Gibson.
