The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Jorginho played a big part in Verona's triumphant return to the Italian top flight last season making 41 appearances.

Hardly triumphant when they got relegated was it
Don't get the bid either (if it was true which I doubt), 8m for a (now) 2nd division player is a lot of money and you're buying him for the potential for him to turn into a player worth 20m+ if we were to sell him in the future, so why would we give so much cash and then 20% of any future money we got. It's a no from me.

They got promoted and will play in Serie A this season.

You're right mate sorry. Think I was thinking of the other Verona (Chievo maybe?) and I thought they got relegated but just checked and I'm in the wrong. Still not sure I'd pay the money + sell on clause. If it was a % of the profit maybe, but if not too much of a risk for me

In for Anderson from Manu for £10m according to caughtoffside. I know they know nothing, but this is the transfer rumours thread.

@kopitesarescum: Everton have made a bid for Hellas Verona star Jorginho. .Everton have made an offer worth £7.7m for the midfielder, plus 20% sell on fee

It appears your car knowledge is on a par with your football, as the Skoda & Audi actually share the same base design, engine, gearbox & most major components.

Ossie is a quality footballer, he was a late bloomer & was often played out of position in his early career, he's a great squad member & is only called '****e' by those who don't know their arse from their elbow imho.

The skoda analogy is unintentionally perfect. More or less the same as an Audi but because the badge ain't Audi people think it's ****.

There's no hate in recognising that Osman is a very poor option as a first team player. He's nowhere near good enough for a starting spot in central midfield. The opposition bypass him with ease.

Unfortunately I agree - as an attacking option he can make a contribution but in the midfield he turns a car chasing dog on defence -
he should only play against sides we should beat easily - leave the tough stuff to the tough guys

First post so don't give me too much *** Been hanging around reading the forums for a few weeks and decided to sign up before the game last night but didn't get approved to post til this morning. Good runout yesterday versus a Juve team who is still solid without the players they were missing. Stones showed his potential well and Howard came up with some big saves. Osman had a terrible night to say the least. Now onto transfers, out of all these midfield options being tossed around : McCarthy, Barton, Anderson, Jorginho, Sissoko, etc, I think Jorginho seems to be the better option (haven't seen much of him tbf) due to his age, price and doesn't seem to have any of the drawbacks the other lot seem to have. He's also been called up to the Italy U-21's so he has to have a fair bit of ability. McCarthy isn't a bad player but he's not worth 15 mil and would have the stigma of being yet another Wigan singing ( the other 3 were decent signings to improve the squad as a whole). Barton while being a Evertonian has all the * we'd have to deal with and i'm not sure its worth but being on a free and 35k a week is somewhat tempting when we need cover in the midfield badly. Anderson never seems to be fit nor have the right motivation and would cost a few mil more than Jorginho. Sissoko isn't terrible but turned us down for the history channel team so I wouldn't want him here.

Well...not really all Skoda cars and Audi cars share the same...Volkswagen, yes being that parent company, but there are some Skoda that don't have similar platforms as Audi...

Yeah....so...Clint Dempsey was spotted at the San Francisco International Airport today.

Then there's this:

Taylor Twellman ‏@TaylorTwellman 1h
My prediction of @clint_dempsey is he's in the USA to meet with one of European teams competing in international tournament. #Everton

How many teams are there in SF right now? Two.

It's gotta be us.

The rumor is back.

EDIT: There is a rumor that he's coming back to MLS (Seattle). But most journalists are debunking that. This gentleman who took the photo thought he was going to Seattle...he wasn't. And it's not like SFO is a hub for anything.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

EDIT x 2: Game was great yesterday, will post on that later.
