I think people are being a bit harsh with the "we could have done better with £5 mill than Kone". For a 10+ goal a season Premier League striker with pace £5 million ain't bad considering some of the silly money being spent by other clubs.

Darren Bent could have been bought for similar money & he's way better than Kone IMO

I am feeling better about McCarthy after reading Bong's analysis. Way more into the idea closer to 10m than 15-20m though of course.

Shame about Dempsey but I was in the minority there in wanting him. We could have had the triad.

Yep. Plus he's more of a poacher whereas Kone is more of an all round centre forward, Bent wouldn't fare well as a lone striker.

I actually felt the exact opposite after reading Bongs analysis. Didn't he pretty much show he is good, but not that good and isn't really an improvement over anything we already have...... I am on team Ijjy now..... I think...
