Round said that after Oviedo, we may possibly bring in one more. He basically said we'd be happy if it ended at Oviedo, but if a possible deal came up we could bring in one more. Where did you hear "actively looking for two more"?

Still after a midfielder...

Everton assistant boss Steve Round has revealed the club hope to sign a midfielder before the close of the transfer window on Friday evening.

The Toffees have been busier than usual this summer, with Steven Naismith, Steven Pienaar and Kevin Mirallas all signing on at Goodison Park.

Those arrivals have been offset by a number of departures, most notably Joseph Yobo, Tim Cahill and Jack Rodwell.

However, Goodison boss David Moyes still has some cash to spend, with a number of names being linked with a deadline-beating move to the Toffees.

One player who seems certain to join the club is FC Copenhagen winger Bryan Oviedo, who has completed a medical and arrived at Goodison Park in order to complete a £1.6million switch to Merseyside.

When asked about any other activity, Round confirmed that the Toffees hope to bolster their midfield.

"We are trying to bring somebody into the midfield - that would be a help to cover our squad - and that is probably about it to be honest," said Round, who also insisted that there will be no deadline day departures.

"We are only ever going to get one or two players at this late stage, and if we can bring in just one today I think that will be a bonus.

"Bryan is the closest we have got, and other than that, the manager is going to be working all day I think with the chairman [Bill Kenwright] to try to bring somebody else in."

When quizzed on potential new arrival Oviedo, Round added: "He can play left back, left midfield, left wing - all the way down the left hand-side. That will give us good cover in our squad."

Is that ok for you mate?

hopefully a loan deal for benayoun, decent player and more importantly a play maker, would be ideal to fill the gap left by arteta.
