Been in the Philippines for two weeks now and it's been a blast, especially snorkelling and sailing in the south and west. Catamaran trip from El Nido to Coron was an experience of a lifetime. In Manila right now (godawful traffic) and up north for the remaining two weeks.
Still see our Blues are the masters of inconsistency. Some things never change, eh?

Looking for suggestions, away for possibly a month in July/August/Sept. Two criteria, needs to be affordable, and preferably not the rainy season (the likes of Vietnam/Thai/Cambodia would've been my #1 choice).

I'M BOOKED! Away in June for a week in Montenegro, followed by a couple of days in Bosnia and to finish it off 4 nights in Croatia. Been looking long and hard at it and decided to go for it. Still undecided as to where im staying in Montenegro, definitely want to stay a few nights in Kotor but the rest im not sure. Most things I read suggest a couple of days in each place but I don't want to bus it anymore than i have to!

A few days in West/South Bosnia should be nice, again not sure what im gonna do apart from maybe go to Mostar. Then back to Croatia to relax for the final few nights before flying home.

Got flights for 120 return, flying to Tivat and home from Dubrovnik.

Anyone got a suggestion for towns to stay in (Montenegro and Bosnia)?

Vietnam is a fantastic place to travel. Cambodia is pretty seedy... Laos is much nicer, but everyone wants to see Angkor, I suppose. Don't worry too much about rainy season. It is hot and sunny for most of the time... there's a waterfall that opens up in the sky every day for half an hour, so you'll need to bail into a bar or cafe, and then everything's back to normal. I wouldn't let it stop you.

I've stayed in Podgorica, Budva and Kotor in Montemegro; the latter was my favourite by a decent margin.

Belgrade for me next. I fly on Thursday for 4 nights, with the Partizan v Red Star 'eternal derby' being the centrepiece on Saturday night. It'll be a new country for me to chalk off, leaving just 4 left to finish be UEFA 54.

Really looking forward to this game, which is usually mental.

Have a good time mate, which are the four?

Heard anything about Tivat or Herceg Novi? Thinking of doing a couple of days in one of them.

Also, how long would you recommend to stay in Kotor for? Even Budva for that matter?

We stayed two nights each in both Budva and Kotor which was fine; you could stay longer if you wanted some beach/pool time etc.

We had a day in Tivat (saw the local 2nd division side, Arsenal, play) and its worth a day trip. Lovely marina area which is chocca with luxury yachts and unbelievably fit Russian snatch.

Sweet! Cheers for the info, was planning on doing maybe 3 days in Tivat but you've echoed most of the things i've read - that its good for a day trip.

Unbelievably excited. Literally pissed all my money away on travel in the past 2-3 years.

So thinking of going away with my gf during May half term, and looking at Venice. What are people's thoughts/recommendations? Is it worth staying on the main land and travelling in each day? How much is there to see and do there?

Cleveland via Detroit next week for five days, week at home and then five days in Johannesburg.....means I miss another bloody home game v West Ham.....however, missed two other games this season due to working in the US or SA and we won 6-2 and 4-0 so I'm hoping the run continues.
