The NIH (national institutes of Health) spends $3 billion a year on AIDS research. Alzheimers, which effects 5 times more people, has a budget of just $500 million.

The United States spends $95 billion a year on Medical research. A massive amount of money but it pales in comparison to their annual security defense spending, which is a staggering $640 billion. That $640 billion is more than the next 8 countries combined (China, Russia, Uk, Japan, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia and India.

You could say, well okay, if they have found cures for certain diseases then why are the U.S still spending $95 billion a year on research. A smoke screen perhaps, who knows ? I'm just throwing it out there.

I don't think it has anything to do with a cover-up. I think you underestimate how dumb governments are and how slow and meandering the process of democratic government is. The USA's military spending is down to a powerful military lobby in a nation that gets itself into enough wars and is hated by enough belligerent countries to justify it. That's a different argument, really. Healthcare in America is mostly a private enterprise, dictated by private pharmaceutical and insurance companies who, I imagine, fund their own operations. Also a different argument that has been well travelled in this forum. The military is a publically funded entity which, by its nature, needs a share of the national budget to exist. The two just aren't really related.

I'm sure there's lots of shadowy dealings in all tiers of government and private corporations, but they're usually individual cases of backhanders, insider trading, blackmail, overpowered lobbies, morons, cover-ups and all that other bad stuff. The sort of co-ordinated government population control program you're implying would require the sort of extraordinary level of compliance and cooperation at all levels of the operation that governments are completely incapable of. In fact, the only evidence that the ebola virus is weaponized population control unleashed by the American government is what a terrible form of weaponized population control it would be, the kind that a bloated, bureaucratic mess would put together in a few days.

Whooping cough isnt the same as being HIV or that bracket of illness. It is serious to your health but it isnt the same. And yes they would look to eradicate something easily transmitted through the air or whatever depending on the illness as it is not the same as something that you cant help.

Whooping cough used to kill over 2000 kids a year in the uk, i'd call that pretty serious. Now we get a few cases a year.

Because it was vaccinated. It is a completely different type of virus to HIV. YOu can live with HIV with drugs but you either have or havent got the whooping cough!

HIV has on four separate occasions crossed the species barrier from primates to humans. 4 different strains. One from Gorrillas has only infected 100,000k people. One main strain is responsible for 90% of global infections.

Ebola is in bats and probably some other mammals in the wild. People can be infected when they handle the carcasses and/or through improper cooking.

Certain strains may also even pass through the stomach and be intact based on resistance to acid-proteases and/or nucleases in the stomach.


There are plenty of routes for these diseases to get into humans.

Hong Kong and China is a key reservoir for flu viruses within pig and avian excrements contaminating human food in markets and swapping their genes with human influenza. I notice you're not blaming China in the same way.

For avian and pig flu!

Or SARS.



Biological weapons are not very good and the US/NATO will not use them as (i) they're illegal and (ii) they have the risk of infecting the domestic population and your own military personnel.

This has been proven and concluded during tests conducted in the Cold War.


They may keep live cultures for research and defensive purposes e.g. creating antidotes

But even that will have some international oversight from the WHO.

Less than a hundred years ago, Flu killed in the region of 50 to 100 million in one year in 1918.

Even today, over 12000 people die of Flu in the uk per year on average.

Small Pox is the most deadly disease in history.

Followed by influenza.

Ebola is a strange one. Its got such a high mortality rate it usually kills people before infecting others in sufficient numbers.

The problem with this in Africa is - 1. people washing the bodies (cultural) in Africa and 2. people can't read and 3. roads and aircraft meaning people can travel further when infected.

So lack of education has caused many of the problems.


When aid workers went to a village in Guinea, I think there was a case of the aid workers being murdered and then dumped in a sewage tank. Due to cultural taboo and stupidity. Rumours like you're spreading that the aid workers were spreading the virus.

You're only considering government spending.

Private industry spending outstrips any of those figures.

The US government merely tops up funding based on priorities.

Alzheimers has a market for industry to make profit from a cure. Aids less so. It mainly impacts poorer people (without access to health care e.g. barrier protection) and or those lacking awareness/education.


The US is a key country for medical research. But not all of it necessarily needs to be government backed.
