The Vincent Kompany amnesty thread

Who wanted kompany ? I don’t remember loads in here or twitter , shouting for him.

Dyche took a better Burnley team down. Kompany has targeted mainly younger players, maybe just maybe Burnley have a long term plan. And wanted to get away from
Dyche’s pulling teeth football

Not if there’s a long term plan, imagine watching for 10yrs what we’ve watched for 15 months.

Burnley obviously decided to go a different route and fair does to them.

Forget the academy while dyche is here, he’s not using young players unless we get a superstar like Branthwaite. I said yesterday was watching a guy who works in recruitment and is an Everton fan and he said no point this summer buying young players as dyche won’t play them. Patterson is finished at Everton

Funny how Kompany gets the Burnley Jon and they start buying young players. Non of this 20mil on Chris wood or Weghorst

I think el BlueBoy has a sweet spot for Kompany, but it's hard to tell amidst hus ravings.

Kompany might get another shot. It’s a difficult league to stay up. But there were plenty that were spouting about Burnley had got the better deal out of the Dyche and kompany argument.

Being courted by Burnley according to the rumours. Can see him choosing a Vincent Kompany project over a Dyche one to be honest, if I take wages out of the equation.

Kompany will get pretty much all of the season unless their results remain really bad e.g. losing every week at home. Their whole reason of sacking Dyche was to become more progressive on and off the pitch and Kompany has done well in that regard even if they look very naive out of possession.

Even this early Bournemouth is the big one I think. I'm certainly not saying they have a squad full of quality players but likes of Billing looked far better under Gary O'Neill.

Mepham, Brooks and Kieffer Moore all started when Wales beat Croatia and yet all three of them are barely figuring for a team that's won 0 in 9.

Bournemouth just look a very lightweight and passive team currently so I think they'll ditch Iraola by December and get in a more pragmatic and safety first manager and they'll scramble a few wins (just as they did when O'Neill was given the job).

We'll see on Dyche. I don't really think there's much pressure on him given the chaos with the ownership but it's not great optics if he isn't even matching what the points haul Lampard was on going into the World cup break last year (think that was 14 points from 15 games?)

I mean I don’t think two promotions and a 7th place finish with a club from a town of about 70,000 is “doing badly” regardless of how it finished. Ask Vinny Kompany how easy it is keeping a team like that in the top flight.

I think that's a bit much. Given his career and who he played for, it's more likely he believes that's the best path to success. It certainly worked last year. To say he's not qualified after the result last year isn't right, especially since he spent 3 years at Anderlecht. His name helps but he wasn't handed a PL job, he had almost 100 games under his belt in a lower league before he got a Championship job.

How many managers stay at clubs for 10 years? Not many. ALK didn't show much faith or loyalty to Dyche, and I truly believe it cost them their PL place. Kompany should show as much loyalty as the counterparty.

I haven't watched Burnley much this year but what I saw on Saturday was a group of players as a whole who are not ready for the Premier League physically. I truly don't believe they have the talent/ability to stay in the PL, regardless of how they play.
