The Vincent Kompany amnesty thread

I certainly would advocate Everton going after Kompany and there are very few managers I would replace for Dyche right now from a realistic point of view. That being said I think Burnley should stick with him and see where it goes, no shame in them getting relegated and I would have thought having long term goals both football wise and structure wise is their best option.

The problem with Kompany, is that he needs players who are very comfortable on the ball to play the way he wants and they cost lots of money and wouldn`t want to go and live in that part of Lancashire. Burnley centre is like stepping back in time and even though the surrounding countryside is off the scale beautiful and wold be a wonderful place to live, there`s not a lot there.

More super wise footballing owls

In the championship he was the latest shiny bouncy golden ball that too many on this forum can’t help but run after. Just as they did Bielsa, Hasenhuttl, Rodgers, Vieira, Frank Lage, Nuno, Potter, De Zerbi, the list goes on and on. Now it’s Iraola and Glasner who Everton definitely should have looked at based on less than a full season worth of work in both cases (weird how De Zerbi is no longer the silver bullet answer)

Championahip football and the PL is different levels and Kompay’s Burnley just show the futility of playing a style that only City and Arsenal can realistically play in this league. They can enjoy relegation whilst Dyche used his brain to keep us up and save the club. I know who I’d rather have on the touchline.

Depends where he's getting them from

Japan produce a decent amount of skilful players who focus on possession football

He could easily pick up some players from there, ditto from Central and Southern America

It's about having the right scouting networks set up

We are all of us commentating on a subject none of us are expert in, I think you can expect yourself to be wrong now and again, especially with your weekly unit intake
Tbf I said they’re not dinosaurs which is correct. Dyche is a dinosaur but we most defo need dinosaur football for the players we have on our books.

I reckon my shouts would be much worse if sober.
