Get a real sense of the place. Some great characters in that season also. Made no sense for the Greek and that little man to come back on the scene though.

Carcetti is based on former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. It’s not subtle at all tbh. His real-life affair was actually much more interesting than in the series.
He’s the fella that ran way behind Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary in 2016.

Yeah only had that one scene with him cheating and was never really addressed but you knew he was a narcissist fraud in every scene after.
Similar with Rawls (great laugh) been shown in the gay bar. Put his whole character in a new light but was never mentioned again apart from some graffiti in the police bogs.

Yeah but they left cos things were too hot at the end of series 2. Would make no sense them risking getting caught a couple of years later I thought.

Love the wire. I’m currently rewatching the Sopranos also. The late 90’s/early 00’s just can’t be topped for TV imo.

My favourite bit of trivia is that in the scene where Omar had to jump from the building they had to make it believable by making him jump from a low floor whereas the real life inspiration behind the character had jumped from something like the sixth

And if you want to hear an authentic Baltimore accent in the show this is the guy. He was a Baltimore detective in real life.

Agree on Prop Joe - he was far too cartoonish, like a Breaking Bad character.

Still think The Sopranos was better though... *runs*
