The Zodiac Killer

I don't believe it was him. By the way it's crazy how many people could fit Zodiac profile on a relatively small area - it shows that anybody anytime could be a suspect in some case going around. Scary.

Either way, back to ALA:

His fingerprints, DNA (although we really don't know it's Zodiac's DNA that police have) and handwriting did not match.
He wasn't a particularly good match for the sketch and Kathleen Jones (who was abducted by the Zodiac and spent around 90 minutes with him in a car) never identified him from a 16 photograph line up.
He was left-handed and we know the Lake Berryessa attack and the murder of Paul Stine were all carried out by an attacker using his right hand.
He was a known sexual offender and I don't believe someone like that would restrain his lust when killing people. Zodiac's victims were never sexualy abused.
All the evidence was circumstantial on him.

The film was properly boss, the park scene...

The fella, who is an old man now, does an interview on the extras on the DVD if you get the double disc version.

Its all fascinating, the series which has just run on the H2 channel called Zodiac Killer Cased Closed was interesting, new evidence they have uncovered over the last 12 months inc 2 possible victims and at least one more letter

Watched that earlier.

That Lawrence Kane does look likely.

What's the story with the DNA evidence? If they have any then you'd think they'll get him soon from genealogical databases the same way the ONS serial killer was apprehended recently. I don't follow the case closely but it sounds like they're still trying to extract DNA from letters and the like he sent to the police, and it's not clear that it can be done.

They sent some samples from letters and envelopes to the lab lately. Basing on EAR/ONS killer who was caught few months ago, it can be succesfull but we don’t really know if the samples contains Zodiac’s DNA (he could have used someone to lick the stamps for example).

Back then AFAIR they did have some samples from the stamps but it was from the front side of the stamp, not a saliva.

Into it now great sky box set documentary- the fact some police departments won't coperate with the new investigation in the documentary might suggest that the police messed up on certain murders ...
Lawrence Kane seems to be fitting the bill upto now ex navel code programmer - great documentary ;)

They all wanted the glory.

Seen a few theories about Kjell Qvale, and also one that entails one man to kill and one to write the letters.

Great piece on my favourite suspect - Lawrence Kane.

One thing which bothers me is that he died in 2010 and I don’t believe the real Zodiac would not contact the media after the documentaries and movie made about him. He just loved attention and I don’t think he would restrain from taking any action, especialy when the favourite suspect of Toschi and Graysmith was Arthur Leigh Allen.

Yes I’ve read all that. It’s good, problem is, like all the others it’s entirley circumstantial.

Strong case though
