On Soccer Saturday he actually said Walcott would do well at Everton but he should go to Bournemouth (or Southampton) so his kids could go to school in North Hampshire and not have to move up north! In short...he’s an idiot

Unfortunately, that would probably be a factor. Having played for Arsenal, I doubt that our history or fan base is a big attraction to him. He’s taking a step down regardless.

As has been said, hopefully he has some hunger about him still.

Tbf to him he was telling everyone who'd listen that we needed a striker and left sided defender from about August

Nobhead and bad manager, but it wasn't his job to do deals
This is true, I hate Koeman for how bad he has left us and how easily he messed it up but Steve Walsh is just as much to blame. His one main job is to take on board the style of play the club wants and get players and coaches to fit that mould and make sure the squad is balanced etc. I don't see how he still has a job tbh especially if the best he can come up with this window is Shaw and Walcott. Where's all these unearthed gems?

He can join Gylfi on the payday express FC train. A nice bump in wages for a bang average player
I think sigurdsson, though he's not yet set the world alight for us, is available for every game, and always at least tries to put a shift in. That would be the main worry about Walcott on big wages for me. It's a massive gamble for us to take if he doesn't play that much and we wouldn't be able to get rid of him if he stunk the place out.

I think he can be a better than average player on his day but I'm not sure either how many good days he's got left or whether his attitude is really up to it. See Morgan Schneiderlin.

The sort of signing Villa/West Ham/Sunderland would have made in their rich period.

Still having old, unsaleable players, on huge wages worked out well for them so why not us?
