But Walcott has never 'thrived' as such when Arsenal have played their possession-based stuff.

He's always looked better when they counter-attacked during games - because of his pace.

I just don’t see it working with the way we play and the way we are at the minute. I don’t want to keep going on about my pure hatred for the manager but it’s not his type of player, he plays football the opposite way of walcotts attributes.

If nothing else Walcott is fast and likes a shot (though he can be a bit Leon Osman in the power shooting stakes). He’s better played through the middle than out wide though so it will be interesting to see how we use him.
