There has to be a degree or realism. We are a club who have won nothing for nearly 23 years and have been left behind in the era of new stadia so far, with tight finances and comparatively low wage structures.
We cannot be turned from that to a club attracting the champions league elite overnight, improving has to be incremental.
So Walcott, Rooney, Sigurdsson, Tosun, may not terrify the best sides out there, but it is definitely a huge step forward and may bring enough success to attract more talent in the future.
While he might not be on Barca or Bayern's radar, anyone that thinks Walcott will not improve our current squad is deluded.
for me...after the state we were in a few weeks ago.....no striker ....siggy underwhelming.....no pace......suddenly with siggy starting to shine...bolasie back seamus on the radar ,,,th pace improving with walcott inbound...its all looking better..EXCEPT FOR THE "££$%^&&* LB slot that Koeman wanted filled last Summer window ...come on EFC thats the next job ...

Lots of lovely goals from clever interplay around the box with Ozil and Sanchez. Should be a perfect fit for Sam's slick interchanging ballers.
So we just settle for we play crap football, no point buying players that improve us.

The negativity on this forum is beyond belief, I currently hate our fanbase, things can change, we can get better FFS.

In that Vid he shows skill, pace, vision and some quality finishes.

Good signing. Proven in the premiership, has pace and goals and still at least two full seasons at his peak. We can play him left side and move Gylfi in to the middle. With pace on both flanks Tosun will get chances.

Well for sure he could identify the glaring holes that 40,000 match going Evertonians and every other fan around the world can see and sign players for said positions.

There is so much wrong with Walsh and what he does at the club, admittedly the club's remit for him might be different, but as a DoF he massively fails on what he should be doing... the point above is culpable to that - everyone knows our weaknesses, he should be fixing the holes instead of doing what he is.

He hasn't succeeded at one element of his job, going by the traditional roles and responsibilities of a director of football, so far in my eyes - he should have been held accountable as much as Koeman...

Add to the fact he's done a job for the boys with Allardyce - just makes me hate him even more.

If you never read all that, he's a beaut... a bad bad one.

So basically, according to you, he should just be going out, signing world class players for little or no money, without any consideration of whether the manager needs them, based on what some fans on a forum say?

Yeah, when you put it like that, he is failing. Good point well made.
