Wonder if the Andrei Kanchelskis signing would have had the same amount of negativity had GOT been around back in the day.

Man Utd cast off.

Leaving a top 4 team for a lower premier league club.

Walcott offers us just as much as Kanchelskis potentially did, and he went on to be a god in many Evertonian's eyes and he did it in a squad which was just as useless, if not worse than the one we have now.

Walcott has said he wants to play a more centrally attacking role, good, because that is exactly where we need him.

He will give us back a pacey counter attack option which we are badly missing at the moment.

The lad knows where the goal is too.

He knows the situation we are in, he knows we are struggling and still he is ready to commit to us, yes i know the wedge is good, but i bet Kanchelskis didn't come for peanuts either.

Stop beating him up before he has even signed on the dotted line.
I'm not against signing Walcott but lets not pretend he's anything in the same league as Kanchelskis. He was one of the best team in the countries best players and only left because of the Russian heavies.

Comparing Walnut with Kanchelskis makes me think you either never saw Kanchelskis, are a friend of walnuts or are nuts yerself

We'll see exactly that, but with Sigurdsson and Rooney alternating.

This "Allardyce doesn't attack" view is nonsense - he will have a side attack when they get the basics right and don't leave gaps all over the shop. Yeah, we'll never play Guardiola type stuff but the idea Allardyce doesn't want to have a strong attack is insane.

We had plenty of the ball the 1st half against Spurs and runners in the box. Just not enough quality.

Hahahaha

are you seriously comparing the 2

You never once seen Andrei the Great play, did you

For those interested in this stuff... Walcott's PL and CL campaigns last year.

Surprised how lined up his stats are with people's priors on him. Especially on passing attributes and assists, which are really weak, especially for a decent team like Arsenal.

Be interesting to see how this changes Allardyce's attacking set up (if at all!).

The similarities are greater than the differences.

Fast, attacking wingers who also score goals.

The only difference is Kanchelskis was given the chance to prove himself.

People on here aren't even giving Walcott a chance to do that.

If he scores the winner on Saturday , watch the change on here.

Walcott's got pace, so what? Stewart Downing had pace. Danny Welbeck has pace.

Walcott is another Aaron Lennon. All pace, no end product.

Wrong. Wooney has scored winners for us this season, I still can't wait for the fat aul boy to leave.

We have mediocrity everywhere. And Walcott just adds to the already huge list of bang average has beens we seem so obsessed with collecting at this once glorious football club.
