kinell, didn't realise Mosh has got Bill doing the driving as well

reminds me so much of Newcastle signing Andros Townsend when they panic bought in Jan 2016 to try and stay up

20m for a player that turns 29 in less than 2 months is madness given his main attribute is pace

Three massive positives with this transfer:

1. Aaron Lennon is no longer a regular starter
2. Sigurdsson moves to his preferred position since Bolasie will play on the left and Walcott on the right
3. It's even less likely that Rooney will play as number 10

That is all good news.
You can see that
I can see that
Our manager can see that
Some lads on here can see that
Why the moaners and begrudges can’t is beyond me

It would have been madness in 2006 or something. But when the likes of Chris Wood and Andre Gray are going for £15m+ then £20m for Walcott is completely reasonable.

The concern is that these are Allardyce signings and there is no systematic approach to our play which will see us develop as a club for next decade.

Aside from my trolling in this thread, my issue goes much larger than the purchase. We seem to be throwing ridiculous money at players for different systems and there is no cohesion at all.

The idea of appointing Walsh was to set a pattern where a manager can seamlessly fall in and continue as if there is no change (same approach, same ideas on how the game should be played etc etc).

We’ve gone from Koeman wanting a high press and quick turnover to Allardyce sitting deep and pumping the ball from one end to the other as quick as possible, this then as the club wasting money on fixes to solutions which may again arise when we change manager again.

There’s one man who failed massively at his job yet seems to be invincible.

He's bought two. A striker who looks handy and Walcott. Hardly something that will cause concern.

If you're worried about a system to plan for the next decade thank Mr Ronald Koeman for setting us back 2 to 3 seasons and spunking £200+million with his 3 year plan.

The concern is that Allardyce should have no money and should be nowhere near this club to even see a penny being spent

I'm all for optimism, but i cant see him playing 2 out and out wingers...
Well he has just signed Walcott who is a winger
If he wanted to play Walcott up front he would not have signed Tosun
He couldn’t wait to get Bolassie back and played him every game since even though he’s not match fit
I’d say the chances are we will play 2 wingers.
We can’t defend so we may as well try attacking
Don’t forget FSA has delusions of being Everton Footballs Club manager next season
To do this he has to play sexy football to pacify the Park end
At this moment winning football will do me.

Townsend was good for them tbh.
