I'd say 100% that Lennon and Oumar is off and Walcott will cover both of those losses imo

I wouldn't loan Lookman out either, him, Vlasic, Bolasie and Walcott would give us really nice options for both wings plus the majority of them can play through the middle if need be.

I'm not a huge Walcott fan as he flatters to deceive but what he does have is pace and can finish and that gets us up the pitch quicker and makes us more of a threat. So if Lennon and Oumar goes and Walcott comes in return I'll take that.

Only thing is mate we have one game a week from now on.

I'd be happy to keep them but our squad needs some serious trimming.

Not to put a dampened on it here but a straight choice between us and Southampton I have a feeling Walcott chooses Southampton if deals are identical.

Small chance of him accepting us over them as we are better placed long term. But can see staying in the south being a big draw for him especially as he has never been further than London his whole career

The deals won't be identical, that's the thing.

We'll offer much more money than them. Saints can match the fee but they'd smash up their wage structure if they pay him over 100k p/wk.

Their top earner will be around 70/75k max.

He’s 29 in a couple of months, we should be trying to lower the average age of the squad, not increase it.

We have quite a few players who are under the age of 24. Pickford, Keane, Sandro (may go), Klaassen (hope he fights for his place), Davies, Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin, Holgate, Lookman, Kenny, Baningame.

All are playing for the first team in the current campaign.

Onyekuru and Dowell will probably play for the first team next season.

I am not worrying about the average age of the squad too much.

add the fact that they are in trouble and could well go down

The only stumbling block now would be if he didn’t fancy living up here.

We have a chronic lack of pace in the side. For this reason I'd be happy to take him, with him and Bolasie on either wing we suddenly possess a counter attacking threat and have people who are direct. Hopefully Tosun will benefit from this too.

All's we need now is a LB and someone to take Schneiderlin away from us.

For Sam to go in record like that he may be preety confident. Would look silly if he doesn’t sign now imo. ( i know he didnt confirm anything but still to talk about him like that makes me think that its close)

Not really, what he has done, is basically confirm the club are talking, so if it goes tits up he has stuck the blame on others, also a good way to try to pressure them to get the deal done as well. He also by stating not at the moment about any other negotiations removed any excuse about alternate targets being in discussions etc

Still need two good players for each position, and I assume Lennon would be moved on.

If Lennon is moved on then by all means, happy for Lookman to stay.

But if he's here just for the sake of it I'd much rather him go out on loan for five months and get some minutes.

It's the right thing for his development.

Think it was also just a case of 'what's the point in denying it?'.

It'd all come out anyway.

They asked Wenger about it and he was open as well.
